Listed below are more seniors who shined in their last seasons in High School and who deserve praise for what they accomplished on the field! Some names will be ones you may not have seen, but it is important to not overlook them, because they simply ball out on the field and show tremendous talent.
Hunter Bilbo – Magnolia West
Bilbo showed great patience on his runs and displayed excellent burst through running lanes. His quickness got him to the endzone many times, and on the season he ran for 1,589 yards on 183 carries and 21 rushing touchdowns.
Garret Hagler – Barbers Hill
Hagler put up very good numbers and put his talents on display. A tough runner, who will lower the shoulder and deliver the blow, as well as a back who can slip passed a defender using his elusiveness. On the year, Hagler ran for 1,286 yards and 14 touchdowns on 193 carries.
Tyjae Williams – Fulshear
With good size and decent wiggle, Williams proved to be a very productive back for his senior year. He showed off good receiving skills and the ability to break off big runs. Williams was smooth after the catch and showed he was a very difficult player to bring down. Williams finished his senior year with 1,133 rushing yards and 8 rushing touchdowns on 192 carries.
Kameron Burton – Cy Ranch
Burton was an all around talented back who can do anything asked on the field. A great blocker, receiving back, and skilled runner. He showed great footwork and vision, and tremendous acceleration. Burton was a chain mover and a back who kept drives alive, but also had the ability to break off the big run. He hit the hole with a purpose and showed off his strength by constantly shaking off tackles.
Alonzo Hines – Alief Taylor
Even through 8 games, Hines showed off his skill. A quick, shifty back who can break off the big one. Hines showed that he can make the first man miss and take on the entire defense for good yards. His balance and ability to break out of weak tackles stood out. On the year Hines ran for 1,040 yards and 14 touchdowns on 132 carries.
Jonathan McCoy – Bellaire
McCoy had a busy yet productive season where he rushed for 1,453 yards and 13 touchdowns on 242 carries. He was working for everything but showed off some good skill in the process. McCoy did not go down with out a fight, showing his toughness. He was a smooth runner who got from point A to point B by any means and little wasted movement. At times he made it look effortless. A very skilled back who definitely caught eyes his senior season.
Hymond Drinkard Hymond Drinkard 5'10" | 180 lbs | RB George Ranch | 2022 State TX – George Ranch
Drinkard showed that he is no doubt one of the top backs in the area with his play on the field. He displayed slick footwork out of the backfield and proved to be extremely dangerous in the open field. Drinkard showed great elusiveness especially in the box and soft hands as well. He displayed the ability to outrun a defense as well which adds to his many talents. Drinkard managed to rush for 1,105 yards and 14 touchdowns on 212 carries for his senior year where he definitely impressed.
Jobarre Reed Jobarre Reed 5'7" | 175 lbs | RB The Woodlands | 2022 State TX – The Woodlands
Reed just oozes excellent athletic ability. Shifty with excellent wiggle, Reed showed that he was dangerous with the ball in his possession. He can bounce it to the outside or run right through the defense and he also showed his physicality in the blocking game as well. Reed rushed for 893 yards and 10 touchdowns on 134 carries, and also showed off his receiving skills as well. Reed is a special talent, keep eyes on him and his future.
Rodney Smith – Westfield
On just 58 carries, Smith managed to rush for 621 yards and 9 touchdowns. In a season where his team was successful with multiple backs splitting carries, Smith still did his job and exceled when he got his chances. He is a good sized back who has sneaky speed and who can get to the edge and get a big gain out of it. Smith showed a good burst and strength to break out of multiple tackles as well. He is a great athlete with fresh legs.
Dillon Eugene – Cy Ranch
The other half of a dynamic backfield for the Mustangs, Eugene was just as productive. A big play hitter who also showed very good hands out of the backfield. He showed that he was very good at turning up the field when he had the ball and did not shy away from contact for the extra yards. Eugene was excellent at the run after catch and proved to be a mismatch against defenses.
