Several standouts have picked up their first D-I offers during their impressive playoff run, here are the players to watch in the school’s first state title game:
Jax Leatherwood Jax Leatherwood 6'6" | 225 lbs | QB Scripps Ranch | 2023 State CA – QB, 2023
Leatherwood has shown tremendous physical upside and talent while leading the Scripps Ranch offense in his junior season. He posted an impressive regular-season stat line throwing for over 2,500 yards and 37 TDs with 0 interceptions. He has prototypical size (6’6, 215 lbs.) and a strong, accurate arm. He can add velocity and touch to his deep ball, fits the ball into tight windows over the middle, and can throw on the run. Leatherwood has proven to be one of the top 2023 QBs in San Diego and should be on the recruiting radar for D-I programs.
This the next guy up. ‘23 Jax Leatherwood Jax Leatherwood 6'6" | 225 lbs | QB Scripps Ranch | 2023 State CA . Daygo product. 6’6 220. 45 TDs 2 INTs this Szn.

He shows vision and burst through the hole and is a smooth athlete at the second and third levels. He’s shown versatility this season splitting out at slot receiver and catching passes out of the backfield. Shaw has seen a huge uptick in his recruiting activity picking up offers from USD, Valparaiso, and Benedictine all in the past week.
