On Thursday, December 3rd, the Prep Redzone Stock-Up Showcase Tour hit the road to Lake Barrington, Illinois. A sold-out event featured plenty of talented prospects from across the state of Illinois and even some intriguing out-of-state recruits. There were some blazing times during the testing portion and dominant performances during 1 on 1’s. With that being said, here’s who stood out last night!

QB’s
[player_tooltip player_id="155048" first="Landon" last="Funderburg"], Freeburg, 2022
A strong timing thrower with excellent touch. Landon threw catchable ball after catchable ball during the 1 on 1 period and was one of the most accurate quarterbacks at the event.
[player_tooltip player_id="163030" first="Deuce" last="Allaway"], Bishop McNamara, 2023
Not the biggest guy out there, but man, is he athletic. Allaway clocked a 4.63 40 yard dash and a 4.47 shuttle. He showed clean mechanics at quarterback but could even project as an athlete at the next level.
[player_tooltip player_id="242747" first="Bryer" last="Arview"], Civic Memorial, 2023
Arview was not on my radar prior to this event, but he is now. He started the event off with a bang, clocking a 4.54 40 yard dash. He showed that he’s a talented vertical ball thrower equipped with quiet feet in the pocket.
Connor Huffman, Plainfield Central, 2022
A dual-threat quarterback prospect that clocked a 4.47 & 4.50 40 time back to back. He even broad jumped 9 "5". Huffman was consistent during the 1 on 1 period displaying a compact release and the ability to fit the ball into tight windows.
Sam Reichert, Downers Grove North, 2023
Reichert was stellar during the individual portion and came out slinging it during 1 on 1’s. Time after time, he launched deep balls downfield, hitting his target perfectly in stride. His mixture of size, arm talent, and accuracy make him an interesting name to keep an eye on this winter & coming spring.
Brandon Parades, Plainfield East, 2025
When you watch Brandon throw in person, you’ll see the natural velocity he can generate. He’s got a ton of tools in his toolbox and even went 4.65 on his second forty attempt. He’s still growing and going to add size over the next few years & will definitely be someone to watch in the 2025 class.
RB’s
[player_tooltip player_id="195969" first="Jackson" last="McCarey"], New Trier, 2024
A slippery back that excelled at the varsity level as a sophomore. Jackson showed good initial burst and crisp cutting ability during 1 on 1’s. I liked what I had seen on tape beforehand and what he did in person just reassured my evaluation.
Jaquan Howard, Bolingbrook, 2022
Mr. Howard came away as the fastest man clocking a blistering 4.40 40 yard dash time. This is a drastically underrated back that totaled over one thousand yards rushing as a senior. In-person, he showed silky smooth change of direction and was almost unguardable during 1 on 1’s.
Matt Lawson, Elgin, 2024
Matt showed up and ran a 4.53 40 yard dash as just a sophomore. His cuts were so subtle and looked almost effortless at times. He used a strong lower half to drop his hips and stop on a dime as a route runner.
Ethan Wilanu, Genoa Kingston, 2023
A shifty scatback that displayed soft hands out of the backfield. Wilnau showed swift footwork and precise route-running ability throughout the showcase.
[player_tooltip player_id="135503" first="Ben" last="Ludlum"], Jacobs, 2022
Ben was Honorable Mention All-State this fall and backed that accolade up at our showcase. He blazed a 4.44 40-yard dash time, demonstrated excellent body control during individual, and was torching linebackers all of 1 on 1’s. To me, he could be a huge steal for someone in the 2022 class.
WR’s
Lynel Billups-Williams, Crete Monee, 2023
A fantastic route runner that showed 4.5 build-up speed. Lynel used brisk footwork to easily defeat press coverage off the snap. He consistently stacked defenders downfield and proved he can win on contested throws.
[player_tooltip player_id="137136" first="Joshua" last="Franklin"], Crete Monee, 2023
Another Crete Monee standout who ran well with a 4.59 forty time. Franklin easily won inside on inward breaking routes and consistently high-pointed the football when it was in the air. He easily transitioned at the top of intermediate routes and showed no sort of gate issues.
Derek McClinton, Plainfield Central, 2022
When you turn on Derek’s tape, you’ll see a guy who can make plays as a wideout or as a return man. Last night, he tested well, clocking a 4.66 40 time and jumping 9’5" in the broad jump. Derek showed versatility in his press releases, steady acceleration, and reliable deep ball tracking.
Zach Vodraksa, Hampshire, 2022
A crafty route runner who always seems to find his way behind coverage. Every time I turned to watch Zach during 1 on 1’s, he was giving defensive backs fits. He showed me he’s a true possession receiver that doesn’t fight the ball when it’s coming his way.
[player_tooltip player_id="136403" first="Kristian" last="Gavric"], Libertyville, 2023
I loved Gavric’s competitiveness and his ability to work back towards his quarterback. He’s elusive at the top of his route and can create separation with his feet & false body movements.
OL’s
Colin Gerger, St. Rita, 2023
A good-sized tackle prospect with a strong punch and a stable lower half. He redirects well in his pass set and can overwhelm defenders with brute strength. Gerger is a smooth mover who can and will get steps in the ground when needed.
[player_tooltip player_id="158772" first="Trenton" last="VanBoening"], Libertyville, 2023
Trenton doesn’t have hands; he has bear paws that he shoots right on the breastplate. He’s tough, will fight for every inch, and looks to finish every block. He’s calm in his pass set, waits for a defender to make his move, and will fire his hands without lunging.
[player_tooltip player_id="136005" first="Gabe" last="Rosen"], Evanston, 2023
A massive human at 6’6", 390 who can still move! Rosen went 5.72 in the 40-yard dash and showed freakish movement skills during individual for a man his size. He has long arms, can adapt to counter moves, and will give up no ground to a bull rush. His best ball is still ahead of him.
