<span style="font-size: 18pt;"><strong>Saguaro vs Chandler </strong></span>
The most intriguing matchup of 2021 and a rematch of the 2019 open division title will go down tomorrow night at Sun Devil Stadium. Although Chandler is entering this contest a 5x in a row state champ, the buzz has been all about Saguaro since last Saturday as they upset Hamilton 31-24. Since taking over the QB1 role, [player_tooltip player_id="42902" first="Devon" last="Dampier"] has added a new dimension to that offense with his legs, as he is playing better than anybody in the state right now. That week 3 loss to Chaparral has been the best thing to happen to Saguaro, as they have since played with a purpose and a chip on their shoulder. Somehow, not many people were showing them much love until this Hamilton win. However, I had boots on the ground against Sierra Canyon and I saw a lethal team with a stout defense and a speedy, explosive offense on that 24-7 win. Now, with a solid defense and Dampier stepping up at QB, nobody is more dangerous than Saguaro at this very moment. On the flip side, nobody should ever, EVER, downplay or doubt Chandler. It seemed like people were counting Chandler out early on due to close wins, and that loss to to Hamilton. However, that loss was also one of the better things that could’ve happened to Chandler, as they have played angry and relentlessly especially with last week’s overtime comeback win against Liberty 27-21. Both of these teams are fighters, and they have proven that they won’t stop swinging until the clock his 0:00. Therefore, everyone better be ready for dog fight atmosphere this Saturday night with some of the top talent in Arizona on full display in Arizona High School football’s biggest stage.
