Players are getting bigger and bigger, and with the help of personal trainers and specific workouts in the off-season, we’re seeing more and more young lineman be able to make an impact in their first season.
Here are a few 2025 offensive line prospects to know about for the future…
Mason Short – Right Tackle – Evans
One of the top young offensive line prospects in the state, the Augusta-area freshman has a really impressive frame at 6-foot-6 275-pounds with long arms and big hands. He already looks like a SEC-caliber prospect and attended camps in the past at both Georgia and Notre Dame. He looks the part physically and has plenty of room to fill out and add muscle. He started all season at right tackle as a freshman and has the potential to grow into a really strong prospect sooner than later. He could move over to left tackle eventually with his length and overall frame, so he’ll be a prospect to know about for the immediate future.
Cortez Smith – Center – Parkview
A former middle school star, Smith has been dominant his entire life and really impressed as a freshman last fall, showing the ability to snap well while playing physical for someone his age. The 6-foot-4 275-pounder has great size and raw strength already for his age, and he’s only going to get better as he develops more over time. He played against some tough 7A competition all year and held his own at a very early age. Smith is absolutely a prospect to know in the 2025 class.
Joshua Waymack – Tackle – Lanier Christian Academy
Another giant of a freshman, Waymack is long, lean, with plenty of height and a long wingspan. He’s dominated everyone his age until this point and has a strong future if he continues to learn and focus on the fundamentals. He has the early size and length that stand out immediately, so if he can grow as a player, the college interest is certainly to come down the road. The Flowery Branch native could see his stock continue to rise this spring and into his sophomore season next year.
Peyton Joseph – Guard/Tackle – Peach County
The Peach County Trojans are no strangers to pumping out big-time offensive line prospects and Joseph is the next major bully to come through. Already a reliable, powerful, physical prospect as a freshman, Joseph was very impressive last year and appears to have a very promising future. Already around the 6-foot-3 280-pound mark, Joseph looks like an upperclassmen already and really played well at multiple positions. He moves well in run blocking as a guard and does a great job of playing through the whistle. He plays physical and comes from a winning program that breeds toughness. He’s a great looking prospect early on and it’s easy to see D1 potential after his first season.
