Class of 2022 Under the Radar: QB

With 34 QB in the top 360, it is safe to say that there is plenty of talent at the position.  Here are 5 Senior QB that are currently under the radar and have not yet committed to a college.  All of the players in this article are currently on the watchlist for the class of 2022. [player_tooltip player_id="91533" first="Amare" last="Jenkins"], 6’3, 180, Dublin Scioto [player_tooltip player_id="91533" first="Amare" last="Jenkins"] had a very good Senior season as he completed 149 of 272 passes (54.8%) for 2221 yards and 29 TD and led the Irish of Dublin Scioto to an 8-4 record and a victory in the first round of the 2021 playoffs.  When looking at the film, he sees the entire field well as he uses his very good football intelligence to make multiple reads, eludes and breaks tackles from DB and delivers an accurate deep ball while on the move to the end zone for a TD.  On short and intermediate passes, he places the ball on the correct shoulder of the receiver maximizing yards after the catch.  Although predominantly a pocket passer, he does show the ability to pick up yards on his own for a first down when he needs to. [player_tooltip player_id="138609" first="Joe" last="Pfaff"], 6’5, 200, St. Ignatius [player_tooltip player_id="138609" first="Joe" last="Pfaff"] played well during his Senior season as he led the Wildcats of St. Ignatius to a 7-5 record and advance three rounds deep into the playoffs.  He quickly finds the open man and delivers the deep ball with accuracy and touch.  On short and intermediate passes, he shows the ability to scramble to either side eluding defenders and deliver the ball accurately while on the move.  He shows very good poise in the pocket as he steps up and delivers an accurate ball with multiple defenders in his face.  Displays good play speed while scrambling as he is able to outrun LB and DL for a first down. [player_tooltip player_id="91535" first="Blake" last="Horvath"], 6’2, 180, Hilliard Darby [player_tooltip player_id="91535" first="Blake" last="Horvath"] had an outstanding Senior season as he threw for 515 yards and 5 TD while rushing for 1722 yards on 234 carries and 8 TD.  His play helped the Hilliard Darby Panthers to an 8-4 record and advance to the 2nd round of the 2021 playoffs.  As a passer, he sees the field well and delivers the deep ball with good accuracy and touch.  While running the ball, he uses his good burst to quickly get through the hole on zone reads.  Once in the secondary, he uses his very good play speed and athletic ability to outrun all defenders for a long touchdown run. [player_tooltip player_id="34476" first="Devin" last="Sherwood"], 6’0, 190, Austintown Fitch [player_tooltip player_id="34476" first="Devin" last="Sherwood"] played great during his Senior season as he helped the Falcons of Austintown-Fitch to a 7-4 record and advance to the second round of the playoffs.  He uses his good football intelligence as he reads the defense and scans the entire field.  He shows good accuracy as he places the ball where only the receiver can catch it on short, intermediate and deep passes.  He is also able to deliver the ball accurately while on the move.  While scrambling, he evades DL in the backfield and uses his outstanding acceleration and play speed to outrun defenders for a long touchdown run. [player_tooltip player_id="187974" first="Ayden" last="Hall"], 6’3, 180, Dover [player_tooltip player_id="187974" first="Ayden" last="Hall"] had an awesome Senior season as he led the Dover Crimson Tornadoes to a 12-1 record and a trip to the Division III quarter-finals where they lost to eventual state champion Chardon.  As a passer, he has a very strong arm as he easily passes the ball 50+ yards on a rope throwing the WR open for a TD pass.  On short and intermediate passes, he completes the pass to the correct shoulder of the receiver maximizing yardage after the catch. He shows good mobility in the pocket as he eludes DL and LB and delivers a great ball while on the move. On QB design runs, he shows good elusiveness in the secondary to avoid defenders and pick up significant yardage.
