Continue ReadingWeiss came away with the win over Georgetown, 63-42, on Thursday. The Wolves offense continues to be a scoring machine with senior quarterback Dior Bradfield leading the charge. Both Georgetown and Weiss now enter the postseason but first, take a look at the two Weiss players who stood out.
1. Dior Bradfield (SR-QB) – Weiss High School (Pflugerville, TX)
Stats: 301 passing yards, 5 passing touchdowns
Bradfield has consistently been one of the best quarterbacks for a while now and these numbers alone are a testament as to why. He is accurate, has a great arm, and can thread the needle when need be, but he is also an excellent leader for Weiss. Bradfield carries a lot of momentum into the postseason from this win.
2. Zerian McQueen (JR-WR) – Weiss High School (Pflugerville, TX)
Stats: 4 receptions, 79 receiving yards, 2 receiving touchdowns
Another standout from the game is McQueen, and although he was not Bradfield’s go-to target the entire game, McQueen did score the most touchdowns from the receiver position. Half of McQueen’s receptions were scoring catches and he did pick up lots of yards in the game as well. Given how much Bradfield throws the ball, it is safe to say that McQueen will get plenty of opportunities during the playoffs to get more scores.
