Programs like Allen, Southlake Carroll, Westlake and DeSoto are national names and it’s due much in part to the powerful feeder programs they have. Below are some 2026 athletes, current 8th graders, that certainly look like they’ll be next in line to carry on the tradition of studs at above-mentioned schools. Let’s take a look, shall we?
Will Ashworth | Texas | Athlete
Year in and year out Rockwall is one of the most elite high school football programs in the state of Texas, and that isn’t coincidental when your feeder program is bubbling up athletes like Ashworth. Love watching him play football. As a safety he comes up in run support as well as anyone I’ve seen in the class of 2026. Moreover, when he arrives, he lays the wood like a linebacker. As a running back, he’s equally as talented racking up over 700 yards of offense.
Legend Bey | Texas | Quarterback
A young man that is quickly starting to build a resume that lives up to his name, Bey is a scary prospect to watch on film. Quite literally is a threat to score on every play, as he lines up as the quarterback and has the ability to run around and throw defenders, as well as sling the rock if he needs to. With Bey, coaches in high school will have a track star on their hands and has a chance to see the field early as an athlete.
Brayden Robinson Brayden Robinson 5'9" | 165 lbs | WR Red Oak | 2026 State TX | Texas | Wide Receiver
Brayden Robinson Brayden Robinson 5'9" | 165 lbs | WR Red Oak | 2026 State TX is the fastest 2026 football player I’ve seen to date—not only in Texas, but in the entire country. At 5-foot-9 and 150 pounds, he is electricity personified. He’s been electronically clocked at 4.49 in the forty (4.4 hand) and is a four-time AAU 100M champion on the track with 10.92. if he catches a wide receiver screen and just any space at all…good luck catching him.
Rees Wise Rees Wise 6'1" | 205 lbs | QB Austin Westlake | 2026 State TX | Texas | Quarterback
After back-to-back undefeated seasons and a pair of District Championships for Hill Country Middle School, Rees Wise Rees Wise 6'1" | 205 lbs | QB Austin Westlake | 2026 State TX has fully embraced the winning culture. The future Westlake High School prospect looks to be the future, as Clemson commit Kade Klubnik currently leads the nation’s No.2 ranked team. Wise is a good looking gun slinger prospect at 6-foot and 160 pounds with a cannon for an arm. Also brings toughness and moxy to the position. Isn’t afraid to lower his shoulder on would-be tacklers when he takes off and runs.
Jonathan Hatton Jr Jonathan Hatton Jr 6'1" | 195 lbs | RB Steele | 2026 State TX . | Texas | Running Back
The future Steele Knight (Cibolo) is one of the best, most complete running backs in the country for the class of 2026. Standing a jacked up, 5-foot-9 and 160 pounds he has ideal size and stature for a running back about to enter high school. Throughout his middle school career has provided big time production and is built to carry the load and all three downs, no matter the situation.
Desmond Cox | Texas | Wide Receiver/Linebacker
Whether it’s as a jump ball-winning wide receiver or a knock-your-block-off linebacker, Cox is a good looking young prospect. At 5-foot-11 and 160 pounds, he has the length of a prospect several inches taller and plays much bigger than his size indicates. As a receiver, he’s a long-strider who regularly brough home 50/50 balls deep on the outside. On the other side of the ball, he plays an aggressive style of outside linebacker and is constantly looking to lay the boom.
Trevor Ellis | Texas | Wide Receiver
The Rogers Middle School athlete is a very intriguing prospect to take a look at. He’s a big, tall strong kid who plays linebacker on defense and wide receiver on offense. He passes the eye test right away as an athlete, as his frame is physically mature. Also a standout basketball player and baseball player, he has very noticeable strong hands and elite body control for just being an 8th grader.
Antron Edmundson | Texas | Wide Receiver
Dawning the nickname the Slim Reaper, Edmundson is a long athlete at 5-foot-11 and 160 pounds. The future DeSoto Eagle is a speedster as a receiver and looks to be one of the brightest young stars hitting the high school ranks next year. The long-strider also played a big role in the special teams game as a punt returner as well. He’s part of a very special class of athletes that should carry on the tradition there.
Dazjhon Taylor | Texas | Running Back
An absolute burner at running back, Taylor has elite speed for a 2026 prospect. We’re talking a 100M time of 11.02 and a 22.69 in the 200M—that type of speed. A jitter bug type of back, he has the vision to see things happen on the field before they even occur, and then the acceleration to get north and south in just a few steps. During this year’s regular season he actually lined up as quarterback for his middle school team, while playing running back for his club team. Highly talented back with a very bright future.
Keidric Osunde-Brown | Texas | Athlete
Potential is the name of the game for Osunde-Brown at this stage of the game. Very hard-working kid on and off the field, the wide receiver/safety is a natural pass catcher. He does a great job of catching with his hands, rather than his body. Often lined up in the slot this past season and ran very crisp routes. Really like his foot work in and out of breaks. Dad is a former D1 football player, so genetics are in his favor as well.
