Standout players have little issue with earning a little extra attention while on the gridiron. These are the players whose reputations become widely known because of their consistent on-field production.
The class of 2023 has no shortage of talented athletes who shine under the lights on Friday nights. Below are four names of standout junior wide receivers who put on a show every time they step onto the gridiron. Each one of these receivers has caught the attention of at least one Power 5 program, proving that there is top-tier talent with these borders.
[player_tooltip player_id="22761" first="Ismael" last="Cisse"] | Cherry Creek | 6’0”, 175lbs
Cisse is one of the top receivers in the entire state. He is a big target with fantastic speed, reliable hands, and unstoppable strength. His physicality makes him a superb blocker and a difficult receiver to press at the line of scrimmage.
It comes as no surprise that Cisse has played a significant part in the Bruins making their third consecutive state final appearance. As a result of his performance this season, he has received offers from USC, UNLV, and CSU so far. With offers like that coming in at the end of his junior season, one could only speculate what Cisse’s senior season has in store.

[player_tooltip player_id="242109" first="Rashad" last="Caldwell"] | Denver South | 6’0”, 178lbs
Caldwell is no stranger to having the spotlight aimed in his direction. He is currently the state’s leading receiver with 1,193 yards, 46th nationally. He is explosive off of the line and has insane acceleration coming out of his breaks. His shifty footwork makes him difficult to contain, especially on double moves.
When the ball is in his hands, Caldwell becomes one of the most elusive players on the field. One quick shake on a defender then he turns on the jets and outruns his opponents. Caldwell has received attention from programs like Wyoming, Air Force, Nebraska, and Oregon State, making it likely for a big-time offer to be just around the corner.

[player_tooltip player_id="62214" first="Mac" last="Busteed"] | Fossil Ridge | 6’5”, 205lbs
Busteed instantly stands out because of his height, but it’s his style of play that makes him a stud. His long strides make him an instant deep threat and his amazing size makes him the ideal receiver to target. One thing that truly stands out about his skills on the field is his ability to drop his pad level when making sharp breaks. Seeing someone his size make cuts and explode out of breaks is a remarkable sight.
Busteed earned a scholarship offer from the University of New Mexico and has also been receiving attention from Wyoming. There is no doubt that his stock value will continue to rise before the end of his senior season.

[player_tooltip player_id="22764" first="Brandon" last="Hills"] | Vista Ridge | 5’9”, 165lbs
Hills is another player who has built quite a reputation for himself over the past couple of seasons. He is an electrifying athlete who is capable of torching defensive secondaries and special team coverages. His vision and lightning-fast acceleration as a ball carrier are what make him a walking highlight.
Hills is a player who can not only solidify himself as a dangerous member of a passing offense, he is also a returner who is one crease or one missed tackle away from taking it to the house. Hills received an offer from New Mexico Highlands University after his freshman season, but he has started to garner attention from programs like CU and CSU.
