Colin Czarnecki – LaVille – QB/DB – 6’0″ 180 lbs
Czarnecki was making plays on both sides of the ball on Friday but his biggest play came on defense. He was flying around on the defensive side of the ball and finally got a huge play halfway through the 3rd QTR. He read the QB’s eyes, stayed patient and sat in his zone, and jumped the route, and picked off the ball. He added 7 tackles on the night as LaVille got the win.
Tay Williams – Jimtown – S – 6’5″ 205 lbs
Not a ton went right for Jimtown on Friday, but Williams was able to make a few nice plays. He tipped a ball early in the game that should have been picked but it was dropped. The next time a ball came near him, Williams decided to take care of it himself. He laid out making the interception getting the ball back for Jimtown. He had 5 tackles, a PBU, and an interception on the night.
JJ Williams – Penn – DB – 5’8″ 165 lbs
Williams and the Penn defense were solid on Friday. They kept everything in front of them and didn’t give up the big play. The opposing offense tried getting cute and Williams was having none of it. They ran a trick play and Williams blew it up and forced a fumble. He also had 7 tackles, a tipped pass, and the big play behind the LOS. Penn got the win partially because of how well Williams and the defense played.
Ethan Transparenti – Warsaw – MLB – 5’9″ 162 lbs
Transparenti was the bright spot for the Warsaw defense on Friday. The defense as a whole struggled, but Transparenti played a heck of a game. He was flying all over the field and never got tired. He was leading that defense and trying to keep them in position. He almost had an INT off a tipped pass but it was just barely out of his reach as it fell to the ground. He had 14 tackles and a sack on the night.
