SoCal Regional Players to Watch: Helix

<em>Helix captured the D-I San Diego section championship with their 28-21 victory over Lincoln. Next, they'll take on Mater Dei Catholic on Friday 12/3 in the D-2 AA SoCal Regional with the chance to play for a state title on the line. Here's the players to watch on the Helix side: </em> <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="25345" first="Christian" last="Washington"]- RB, 2022</strong> <span style="font-weight: 400;">Washington is the workhorse leader for Helix leading the offense in their section championship win with 43 carries, 181 yards and 4 TDs. He’s a talented back with tremendous burst, speed, and quickness. He’s a balanced and powerful runner with vision to find lanes between the tackles. He’s a versatile player lining up at both CB and deep Safety. He’s shown athleticism in man coverage and ability to read and react covering zone. He reacts up quickly showing closing speed and physicality. He’s an instinctive player using depth and field leverage in coverage and as a tackler. Carroll had a productive game in Helix’s win over Lincoln accounting for two blocked field goals and a fumble recovery.
