On Friday November 5th, 2021 I decided to go to Rhodes Stadium to watch The Seven Lakes Trojans (7-3) vs The Cinco Ranch Cougars (6-4). These two teams are probably in the most difficult district in Houston having to compete against powerhouse high schools like The Katy Tigers and The Tompkins Falcons. This has only made these two teams stronger which resulted in a competitive game between them. The Seven Lakes Trojans had the momentum for the majority of the game as The Cinco Ranch Cougars were playing catch up to stay in the game. The score was close the whole game Cinco Ranch almost came back, but Seven Lakes kept the lead until the very end with a final score of 26-24. I’ll be discussing The Seven Lakes Trojans offensive standouts.
#3 Grayson Medford QB Sr 5’11 170 lbs
Seven Lakes had mainly a run focused offense. The one that ran the ball most was actually the quarterback Grayson Medford. Grayson had the speed to pay the bills. Most of the time as soon as Grayson got the ball he took off running. Grayson was even able to go for a 38 yard run that put Seven Lakes in the position to score. Grayson’s speed and scrambling skills has gotten him the attention of many colleges and universities. Grayson ended the night by rushing in for two touchdowns and threw one receiving touchdown.
#1 Kyler Foster WR Sr 5’9 150 lbs
Kyler Foster is an incredibly fast wide receiver. Seven Lakes offense focused on a run heavy play style Kyler didn’t get a lot of chances to catch the ball, but he shined best on kick off return. Kyler got the kickoff return zoom down the middle and ran for 46 yards. Kyler’s speed was truly impressive and that what made him standout I wish they gave him more chances to perform on offense. However, Kyler was able to score Seven Lakes’ 1st touchdown of the night.
#85 Landon Ross TE Jr 6’2 215 lbs
Landon Ross is a huge tight end. Landon is a great size for a tight end. Landon was a wall he was mainly blocking for Seven Lakes because of the run heavy play style. Without Landon Seven Lakes wouldn’t have been able to run the ball as well as they did. Landon is also fast with a long stride. London was open for one play he caught the ball and ran for 25 receiving yards.
#5 Barrett Hudson RB So 5’8 165 lbs
The main running back for The Seven Lakes Trojans was #5 Barrett Hudson. Barrett is a fast running back and great at find holes. Barrett was also strong enough to break through tackles as well. For Barrett being only a sophomore he still has a lot of room to grow. I’m sure in the next two years Barrett has the potential to become a top college prospect.
