Marcus Pedone | Richard Montgomery
Pedone has been Richard Montgomery’s most explosive player. He will have his hands full against a strong Churchill defense. He has good speed, vision, and is tough to bring down. If Richard Montgomery is able to get Pedone the ball in space expect him to have a big day and possibly pull off an upset.
Jaden Selby | Churchill
Selby has been one of the top quarterbacks in the county. He has the ability to make touch throws from inside the pocket. He can also get outside the pocket and make throws on the move. Churchill had a great regular season but the playoffs are a different story and with a guy like Selby under center they’ll always have a chance.
Will Gardner | Walter Johnson
Gardner has had some games where he put up big numbers. He has a strong arm and has the ability to make all the throws. Walter Johnson’s offense is at its best when their pass game is hitting on all cylinders. Expect Gardner to air it out this game.
Jeremiah Bruce | BCC
Bruce has great size as he stands at 6’5 280. Bruce is a great run-stuffing interior lineman. He is tough and overpowers blockers with his size and power. He also has good hands and has good pass rush moves. He will be a force to be reckoned with Friday.
Okeyo Ayungo | Rockville
Ayungo has just committed to Bucknell. He is a top player and now gets the chance to prove it against Frederick County foe Oakdale. Ayungo is explosive with the ball in his hands, and he also has the ability to go up and catch 50/50 balls. With him being a threat after the catch and on contested balls he should be able to make plays in multiple ways.
Logan Marsh | Poolesville
Poolesville doesn’t have many players but they’re tough. This leads to many players playing both ways. Marsh is no exception. Marsh is Poolesville’s number 1 receiver as he has sure hands and great route running. On defense, he is a ball hawk safety.
Cody Wyatt | Richard Montgomery
Wyatt is a good all-around defensive back. He has good pursuit and is a great tackler. He also has great instincts and seems to make plays during tip drills. He is also versatile as he also has the ability to play corner. Wyatt may not be the most talked-about player but he is a really solid one.
Michael Assaf | Churchill
Asaf is a two-way starter for Churchill. On defense, he is an interior run-stuffing defensive tackle that uses his size to move blockers. He does a great job of driving blockers back and plugging the hole. On offense, he has great hands and does a great job of getting inside of the defenders. Asaf has been a key player on a sneaky good Churchill team.
Jesse Sadelson | Walter Johnson
Sadelson is a mauler. He is a very physical player. He mostly uses his strength to shrug blockers off. He is also an old-school mauler on the offensive end. He likes run blocking and does a great job of driving defenders back. Sadelson will need to be big for Walter Johnson.
Shane Schwartz | BCC
Schwartz is one of the top tacklers in the county. He racks up tackles game after game. He does a great job of blitzing and making plays at and behind the line of scrimmage. On offense, he is a great blocker and does a great job of lead blocking out of the backfield. Schwartz is a very physical player and BCC could use his physicality during the playoffs.
Erik Howard | Rockville
Howard has returned from the injury and is back to form. He is small but he has great speed and acceleration. He also has good vision and can cut on a dime. He has moves to make defenders miss. Now that he is back healthy Rockville would be wise to feed Howard early and often.
Jaylen Riggs | Poolesville
Riggs is a defensive end that does a great job of setting the edge. He often makes plays in the backfield when the offense tries to run to the outside. He also plays tight end, and he is not only a good blocker but he is also a receiving threat. Riggs will need to be big when they play Oakdale.
