Playoff Report: Gretna @ Elkhorn South

The quarterfinals have passed and what a nice nice sowing this was. These two teams had met once before this year in a close but decently high scoring game. The final score was 28-20 when Gretna lost a very close battle ending with a [player_tooltip player_id="217055" first="Zane" last="Flores"]. The Dragons started out pretty slow the Storm’s defense just held them to nothing not letting them throw down the field and holding Huber down and stopping Gretna’s run game. The first quarter led with a fast 28 yard rush by [player_tooltip player_id="164480" first="Will" last="Skradis"] and score off of a beautifully executed read option by all parts of the Storms offense. The Storm would be slowed down once the defense caught on both defenses are holding tight and there were no points in the second quarter.  The next quarter was also hard fought but the Dragon’s made some adjustments and Flores had [player_tooltip player_id="227033" first="Joe" last="Roll"] open launching a ball down the field for a 61 yard touchdown. Gretna held firm the rest of the game allowing the Dragons to score and hold on many 4th downs to stop the storm and come out with a complete victory. &nbsp; <p style="text-align: center;"><b></b><strong> Takeaways</strong></p> <strong>Gretna Takeaways </strong> <ul> <li>The Dragons had some issues starting in the game offensively they had issues against such a strong defense.</li> <li>They were able to overcome with [player_tooltip player_id="228766" first="Mick" last="Huber"]’s strong run game going from something small and eventually exploding to getting a first down on every single drive.</li> <li>The strict defense is harsh they closed down the Running game for the Storm as the day went on Huber helped on this side along with [player_tooltip player_id="228771" first="Brayden" last="Chaney"] and the rest of the defensive line.</li> </ul> <strong>Elkhorn South Takeaways </strong> <ul> <li>The Storm had a great game no matter what the outcome was. [player_tooltip player_id="164480" first="Will" last="Skradis"] and [player_tooltip player_id="164877" first="Ben" last="Warren"] had a huge day they were going off for a long time and were able to rush and go all over the field for a big portion of the game.
