All of the positional rankings will be based on collegiate projection much like the overall list. Have a look at how I would have Oregon's DB's ranked for the class of 2022 as of right now. 1.[player_tooltip player_id="28831" first="Trejon" last="Williams"] 6-0 190 Jefferson (COMMITTED: Oregon)- The 4* Adidas All American is considered one of the top recruits ever to come out of Portland. The Ducks are landing some of the top talent nationwide, so it will be interesting to see how quickly he gets on the field. 2.[player_tooltip player_id="143911" first="Jake" last="Reichle"] 6-3 195 Lakeridge- Reichle is a D1 kid at some level, projecting on the defensive side of the ball as a Safety/WLB. He impressed all year on offense finishing 3rd state wide in rushing yards (1,308 yards), and 4th in TDs with 17, during the regular season. His combination of overall versatility and athleticism, will help him on the recruiting front as he provides universities with options. 3.[player_tooltip player_id="28846" first="Cole" last="Prusia"] 6-3 200 Tualatin (COMMITTED- Princeton)- The reigning Oregon Gatorade POY projects on offense, but could be a defensive standout collegiately. He earned 1st team all-league honors on both sides of the football again and brings a host of intangibles to the table which you can’t teach. 4.[player_tooltip player_id="28858" first="Dylan" last="Layne"] 6-2 205 Lake Oswego (OFFERS: E. Washington)- Layne is a three-year starter and one of the best DB’s ever to play at LO. He was tied for 2nd state wide in INT’s with (5) and racked up 1st team all-conference accolades on both sides of the ball. We will see what happens on the recruiting front as EWU is traditionally one of the better D1aa’s in the country. 5.[player_tooltip player_id="143912" first="Drew" last="Bennett"] 6-1 190 Westview (OFFERS: Idaho)- Bennett earned Metro League Defensive POY honors after leading the state in INTs during the regular season with (7), returning 3 to the house. He has been one of the most impressive athletes in all of Oregon covering the last two seasons. 6.[player_tooltip player_id="28843" first="Malik" last="Ross"] 6-0 190 Tualatin- I will give it about another 5 minutes before Ross lands his first D1 offer. He has continued to break records for the T Wolves on the offensive side of the ball, while earning 1st team all TRL honors defensively. He may be the state’s top return man to boot. 7.[player_tooltip player_id="28834" first="Aaron" last="Jones"] 5-10 180 Westview (COMMITTED: Navy)- Jones spent his freshman and sophomore seasons known as one of the most electric offensive threats in the state, but made the transition to D earning 1st team All-Metro honors. 8.[player_tooltip player_id="28860" first="Zachery" last="Grisham"] 6-0 200 Central Catholic- As stated numerous times Grisham reminds me a lot of former CC and Portland St standout Beau Duronslet. He is a three-year starter, and a big reason the Rams could win another 6A state title, with his influence on D. 9.[player_tooltip player_id="28877" first="Gunner" last="Yates"] 5-11 190 Coquille- It’s rare for anyone at the 2A level to be ranked, but those familiar with the last name understand why. He comes from a football family with father Griff Yates being an All American at Southern Oregon University and spending some time with the 49er’s. 10.[player_tooltip player_id="143914" first="Logan" last="Person"] 6-1 190 Dallas- Person was known more for his ability on the offensive side of the ball, finishing 5th in rushing at the 5A level (1,129 yards) and 13 TDs. That said as he is an outstanding overall athlete, and could end up playing a higher level of ball collegiately in someone’s secondary. 11.[player_tooltip player_id="108141" first="KJ" last="Johnson-Gibson"] 6-0 175 Clackamas- KJ came to play and had a very impressive season earning 1st team all-conference accolades on both sides of the football. He tied for 7th state wide in TD receptions with 9, but is a versatile CB who can also get physical with bigger WR’s if need be. 12.[player_tooltip player_id="108142" first="Austin" last="Ratliff"] 6-2 205 Silverton- Big physical kid who was in the conference player of the year conversation, earning 1st team honors on both sides of the football. He could very well end up as a weakside backer at the next level. 13.[player_tooltip player_id="144438" first="DJ" last="Daugherty"] 5-11 175 Marshfield- Daugherty is playing 4A ball down on the Southern Oregon coast, so there are many who don’t know how good of a career he has had. Separate from his career 2000+ yards receiving and 30 TDs, he led the state in INTs as a junior and could be a legit collegiate athlete. 14.[player_tooltip player_id="28898" first="Jamar" last="Flippen"] 5-10 185 Banks- Maybe the top two-way athlete in Oregon at the 4A level. His career 2500+ all-purpose yards and 30 TDs speak to his offensive ability, not counting his career 200+ tackles, 6 INTs and 12 pass deflections on D. 15.[player_tooltip player_id="204571" first="Noah" last="Ogoli"] 6-2 185 Tualatin- Really like this kid. He is a multi-sport standout, long, and able to play the CB spot. One of the more underrated players in Oregon in my opinion, earning honorable mention all TRL accolades. 16.[player_tooltip player_id="28893" first="Johnny" last="Miller"] 5-10 190 Jesuit- The Metro League Defensive POY. Miller has had an unreal year. From a recruiting standpoint he is undersized, but just a player and someone who could do well collegiately at some level. 17.[player_tooltip player_id="204624" first="Ryles" last="Buckley"] 6-2 180 Hood River- Ryles is another very talented overall athlete (basketball) who led 5A INTs as a Junior. He doesn’t necessarily get the publicity playing out on the Gorge. 18.[player_tooltip player_id="204603" first="Sage" last="Allen"] 5-11 180 McNary- Two year all conference kid who had a successful off season on the 7v7 circuit. Allen plays bigger than he is and could have his best years ahead of him. 19.[player_tooltip player_id="204582" first="Jordy" last="Tawa"] 5-9 170 West Linn- Jordy is undersized but the last name speaks for itself. Pound for pound he is one of the top players in Oregon, earning 1st team All TRL honors. 20.[player_tooltip player_id="145310" first="Hayden" last="Eiguren"] 6-1 200 Beaverton- Eiguren stepped up big and is an impressive overall athlete, playing an OLB/Safety spot. On the year he accounted for 60 total tackles, 6 tackles for loss, and 2 INTs for a BHS team that overachieved on many fronts.
