Tomorrow we have a giant regional finals matchup between Dakota and Stevenson. Both teams are very familiar with one another, and we have a wealth of talent competing against one another, often in "faceoff" positions such as QB vs DB. Take a took at 4 of the biggest difference-makers for tomorrow’s matchup.
<strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Dakota RB [player_tooltip player_id="30193" first="Caiden" last="Sloan"]</span></strong>
Sloan has exactly 1800 yards on the season, which is a record for Dakota football. With also having scored 17 regular-season touchdowns, Sloan establishes himself as one of the top running backs remaining in the postseason. Like many other top backs, Sloan has elite vision and patience, making it brutally obvious that he has 100% trust in his linemen to develop plays. In addition, he’s done this massive body of work breaking records while missing some time during the beginning of the season!
<strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Stevenson MLB [player_tooltip player_id="30155" first="Jordan" last="Kwiatkowski"]</span></strong>
The Central Michigan commit just broke the all-time Stevenson Football tackle record at 315. The captain displays some of the best football IQ I’ve seen, being a viable asset in rush and pass defense while being able to fly to the quarterback delivering huge hits. He’s one of the most all-around MLB’s I’ve seen, and I’d go as far as saying he makes as much of a difference to his team as Luke Kechely did to the Panthers.

<h2 class="uni-headline--1"><strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Dakota CB [player_tooltip player_id="30183" first="Keyone" last="Nixon"]</span></strong></h2>
Nixon is Dakota’s CB1 and is poised to step up against a great passing offense. The Morgan State commit has 44 tackles, 1 INT, 9PBU’s, 2 sacks, and 3 forced fumbles in perhaps the most talented conference in the state. Nixon can go from 0 to 100 incredibly fast, sporting one of the fastest accelerations I’ve seen while having a great change of direction. He can play any coverage well, as well as be a missile off a corner blitz.
<strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Stevenson QB </span><span style="font-size: 14pt;">[player_tooltip player_id="93652" first="Biagio" last="Madonna"]</span></strong>
Earning all-region honors, Playoff B is a great athlete and fearless leader. Madonna has had 1,170 yards passing, 8 pass touchdowns, 275 rushing yards, with 5 rushing touchdowns. He’s been in the position before, and in 2019 Stevenson rose to the occasion of defeating Cass Tech in the 2019 regional finals. He also plays safety, the natural defensive position for a quarterback, and he’s done exceptionally well there. I’m excited to see how Madonna fares in this huge matchup.
