All of the games that I covered in my 1st article for playoffs I’ll be discussing the winners and losers from those games. I’ll also be discussing who the winners will be playing for week two. Here are the standout games from Houston high school football playoffs week one.
Katy Tigers (11-0) vs Fort Bend Clement Rangers (7-4)
This playoff game was being hosted by The Fort Bend Clement Rangers on Friday November 12th, 2021. The Katy Tigers started off strong by scoring four touchdowns before halftime and holding The Clements Rangers to 0 points. Then they scored another four touchdowns in the remainder of the game. The final score was 56-7 with The Katy Tigers coming out on top. This week The Katy Tigers will be hosting on Friday November 19th, 2021 to play against The Stratford Spartans (10-1). Stratford has a great team, but I think The Katy Tigers will stay undefeated and keep moving through playoffs.
Atascocita Eagles (9-2) vs Deer Park Deers (8-3)
This playoff game was being hosted by The Deer Park Deers on Friday November 12th, 2021. The Atascocita Eagles completely dominated on Friday night they scored 14 points in the 1st quarter and then another 20 points in the 2nd quarter. After the half they score 15 points with a final score of 49-10. Atascocita Eagles standout player is their sophomore quarterback #5 Zion Brown. Zion was on fire threw five touchdown passes and rushed in himself for a 80 yard touchdown. Now Atascocita Eagles will be traveling over to The Dickinson Gators (9-2) on Friday November 19th, 2021. Both teams are highly ranked and stats are almost equal this game could go either way. It is in my opinion the most anticipated game of the week.
Westfield Mustangs (11-0) vs Conroe Tigers (5-6)
This playoff game was being hosted by The Conroe Tigers on Thursday November 11th, 2021. The Westfield Mustangs didn’t waste any time by scoring three touchdowns in the 1st quarter. After that Westfield had the momentum for the rest of the game Conroe tried their best to come back, but they couldn’t compete with The Mustangs. The final score was 55-21 with The Westfield Mustangs moving on to week 2. The Westfield Mustangs standout player was running back #21 Taji Atkins. Taji had a great night as running back and even went out as a wide receiver and dominated their as well. Taji had 140 total yards with two reception touchdowns. The Westfield Mustangs will be hosting on Friday November 19th, 2021 to play against The Klein Oak Panthers (6-5). Based off records and stats I believe The Westfield Mustangs will continue into week two.
North Shore Mustangs (10-1) vs Dobie Longhorns (8-2)
This playoff game was being hosted by The North Shore Mustangs on Thursday November 11th, 2021. The North Shore Mustangs as expected had The Dobie Longhorns beat they laid on the pressure very early by continuously scoring every quarter. The final score was 62-14. The North Shore Mustangs freshman quarterback #15 Kaleb Bailey had a great night. Kaleb had a lot great passes throughout the night and some good runs by rushing in two touchdowns by himself. The North Shore Mustangs will be traveling on Friday November 19th, 2021 to play against The Clear Spring Chargers (7-4). Clear Spring have been having a good season so far and played a great game against Pearland in week one of playoffs. However, based off of stats The North Shore Mustangs will most likely be the victors of this game.
Dickinson Gators (9-2) vs Alief Taylor Lions (6-5)
This playoff game was being hosted by the Dickinson Gators on Friday November 12th, 2021. The game was pretty even during the 1st quarter with The Dickinson Gators leading 14-7. However, after that The Gators took the momentum and kept on pushing. The Gators were rapidly scoring and keeping The Alief Taylor Lions at bay. The final score was 49-20 with The Dickinson Gators moving on. The Dickinson Gators standout player was senior quarterback #12 Luke Martin. Luke was unstoppable he had a good arm and a great scrambler and runner. Luke threw one touchdown pass, had 14 carries himself, 199 total yards, and rushed in for five touchdowns. The Dickinson Gators will be hosting again on Friday November 19th, 2021 against The Atascocita Eagles (9-2). Both teams are highly ranked and stats are almost equal this game could go either way. It is in my opinion the most anticipated game of the week.
