I have been keeping tabs on the teams that left the most impression on me. Some of these teams are ranked powerhouses and some of them are new up incoming teams that made a name for themselves. Here are some of the match ups I’m looking forward to the most during Houston high school football playoffs season week 1.
Spring Lions (9-1) vs Woodlands Highlanders (8-2)
This playoff game is being hosted by Woodlands Highlanders on Friday November 12th, 2021. I don’t know which team comes out on top both teams are powerhouses. Spring Lions have been nearly unstoppable only losing a close game against their rivals The Westfield Mustangs and Woodlands Highlanders had a close game against The Katy Tigers early in the season. Based off stats Spring Lions are better, but that doesn’t mean everything. Whoever wins this game it’ll most likely be the best game week 1 of playoffs.
Ridge Point Panthers (9-1) vs Seven Lakes Trojans (7-3)
This playoff game is being hosted by Ridge Point Panthers on Thursday November 11th, 2021. The Ridge Point Panthers are #1 in their own district and I can definitely see why. Ridge Point has been winning every game with an overwhelming score. Their defense isn’t anything to sneeze at either keeping teams at low scoring games. Seven Lakes Trojans I just watched this past week and they put on an amazing game against The Cinco Ranch Cougars. Both these teams will have a competitive football game on Thursday night.
Lamar Texans (8-2) vs Cy-Fair Bobcats (6-3)
This playoff game is being hosted by The Lamar Texans on Friday November 12th, 2021. The Lamar Texans first two games of the season both ended as a loss, but since then Lamar has been undefeated. I’m curious to see how The Cy-Fair Bobcats will do against The Lamar Texans Friday night.
C.E King Panthers (8-2) vs South Houston Trojans (4-6)
This playoff game is being hosted by The C.E King Panthers on Friday November 12th, 2021. The C. E King Panthers have made a great name for themselves this year. In the past they were always pretty good, but they have been dominating all year and playing against some of the best teams in Houston. They have a strong run game which has been almost unstoppable all season long. Based off of South Houston Trojans lineup and record I don’t think they have much of a chance against The Kings.
Tompkins Falcons (9-1) vs Fort Bend Travis Tigers (6-4)
This playoff game is being hosted by The Tompkins Falcons on Thursday November 11th, 2021. Tompkins has always been 2nd best in Katy behind The Katy Tigers. Besides the loss they suffered from The Katy Tigers they have been winning every game with high scores and with the exceptions of two games their defense has kept the score below three touchdowns. They have a very solid team and can make it far into playoffs. The Fort Bend Travis Tigers have a solid team I do think overall Tompkins has the better team, but this will be an interesting game on Thursday night.
