Jorge Valdes – Carroll – DB – 5’11” 185 lbs
Everything went right for Caroll on Friday. Offense, defense, and special teams. Valdes was another great example of that. Not only was he flying to the ball on every down, but he also changed the game with one swing. Valdes came in like Darius Leonard and punched the ball like it was personal. That ball popped out and Carroll recovered and that killed any momentum Warsaw had gained. Valdes also added 10 tackles on the night.
Kamden Zeisloft – Leo – DB – 5’9″ 160 lbs
Leo found themselves in a dogfight and they needed a few plays on defense. Zeisloft did his job on Friday. He had 7 tackles and a nice pass breakup. However, it was his interception that did the most damage. He read the QB’s eyes, stayed patient, and jumped the route as the ball came. He returned it another 25-yards before being brought down.
Jacob Sharin – Wayne – DB – 5’11” 160 lbs
Sharin was able to salvage the night on Defense for Wayne late in the game. It didn’t really have a big impact on the game though. Sharin was able to sit back and make an interception and return it 25-yards and set Wayne up in scoring position. Sharin also added 7 tackles on the night as Wayne lost.
Jackson Becher – Adams Central – LB
Becher and the Adams Central offense were suffocating on Friday. They were flying to the ball all night and making plays. Becher was forcing pressure on the QB all night and finally got home late in the game. He got a huge sack which killed a drive and forced a punt. Becher added double-digit tackles and a tipped pass on the night.
