Playoffs are here in Washington, and the state saw a ton of big time performances by athletes on both sides of the ball across the state. Here's a look at some of the most explosive players from this past week:
<strong>Logan Lacio,</strong> <em>QB, Bothell ’22<img class="size-medium wp-image-215424 alignright" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2021/10/IMG_6582-225x300.jpg" alt="" width="225" height="300" /></em>
Lacio flashed big time competitive toughness on the 49-35 playoff win over Glacier Peak, throwing for 329 yards and 5 TD’s to come back in the second half. He’s a dual-threat QB and the definition of a playmaker behind center. He possesses solid pocket mechanics and delivers throws with finesse, and has the ability to take off and change the game on his feet if he needs to. He’s shown the ability to deliver off-platform throws with accuracy, and had a big time performance this past week.

Mentink was a defensive game changer and the difference maker on the 24-10 win over Skyview, racking up 3 INT’s and proving to be a legit ball hawk. He showed excellent range and played the center field position well at safety to cover a ton of ground in the back half to snatch 2 out of his 3 picks. He displayed an excellent understanding of responsibilities in both a 1 and 2 high shell and was an absolute game changer.
[player_tooltip player_id="87437" first="Chance" last="Guadiz"], <em>QB, Rainier Beach ’23</em>
Guadiz went 12/18 for 253 yards and 4 TD’s to secure a playoff win against Peninsula 36-21. Guadiz throws with solid touch and does good job putting air under deep balls to give his receivers a shot to make a play. He’s flashed the ability to step up in the pocket and find receivers in late windows, as well as the ability to extend plays and buy some time to throw.

Schlenbaker had a monster 6 TD night, which came on 5 rushing TD’s and a fumble recovery for a TD. Along with those 5 rushing TD’s, Schlenbaker carried the rock 14 times for 231 yards. He's a well-polished back with a great combination of size, burst, speed, vision, and physicality. Tough kid to bring down and a consistent big play threat with the ball in his hands. Washington State landed themselves a gem.
[player_tooltip player_id="87328" first="Takari" last="Hickle"], <em>RB, Tenino ’22</em>
Hickle was a major contributor to the 80 points Tenino put up, rushing for 405 yards and 5 TD’s. He sizes up with a tremendous frame and build at 6'4" 240lbs and is an absolute monster on both sides of the ball. Extremely difficult to bring down given his size alone, and when he brings physicality to the POC it is near impossible to bring him down 1v1. Very impressive athlete with loads of potential that is heading to Oregon State.
