Carson Jacobs – Eastside – DB – 6’0″ 165 lbs
Jacobs had the game of his life on Friday. Bishop Luers was driving and took a shot into the endzone on 3rd down. Jacobs made the tip and forced a 4th down. Bishop Luers went for 6 instead of the FG and they made the stop. On the next drive, Bishop Luers took those deep shots. The first 2 were directed at Jacobs who wasn’t having any of it. He broke up the pass both times and they decided enough was enough. Jacobs wasn’t done yet. He also recovered the onside kick to win the game. The first Luers onside kick was horrible. It went right out of bounds. The second one was kicked perfectly and Luers got on top of it. The place went wild and somehow, nobody knows how, Carson Jacobs emerges from the pile of all-black jerseys holding the football. Even the refs were shocked and they changed the call on the field. Eastside ball and they got the win. Carson Jacobs played out of his mind on Friday and put on the best defensive performance we’ve seen all year.
Briar Munsey – Eastside – CB – 5’9″ 165 lbs
Clark got knocked out of the game for a play and the backup QB came in for Bishop Luers. Instead of playing it safe, they wanted to show they trusted their backup QB. They went to take a shot, Eastside got pressure, and the QB panicked. Threw a ball up for grabs in the middle of the field and Munsey made the play. He returned the ball almost 25-yards before being tackled. He also added 4 tackles and a PBU on the night.
Gavin Wallace – Eastside – OLB – 6’0″ 190 lbs
Wallace really stepped up on Friday and was the signal-caller for the Eastside defense. They played an aggressive game and followed Wallace’s lead at the Line of Scrimmage. Wallace was just relentless on Friday and never gave up. He finally got home and got a huge sack which eventually led to the INT that Munsey made just a few plays later. He added 10 tackles on the night.
