MATER DEI
[player_tooltip player_id="25234" first="David" last="Bailey"]: Bailey is the leader in the clubhouse to be the Orange County Defensive Player of the Year. He is one of the fastest edge rushers I have ever seen at the high school level. Bailey had five tackles and 1.5 sacks and was in the backfield on nearly every play.

[player_tooltip player_id="25274" first="Cam" last="Sidney"]: Sidney did a good job containing Servite’s elite receivers in the first matchup between the two teams and did an even better job in the championship game. His coverage forced a lot of coverage sacks and errant throws for Servite. He is committed to Cal and has proven to be an All-County caliber cornerback.

[player_tooltip player_id="141893" first="Jacob" last="Kongaika"]: The Mater Dei defensive line was dominant all game and got a lot of stalemates against the Servite offensive line. Those stalemates led to open tackling lanes for the Mater Dei linebackers. Kongaika was the best defensive lineman of the game for Mater Dei in my opinion on the interior. He ate up double teams and stopped the run. Honorable mention goes to [player_tooltip player_id="142003" first="Sione" last="Moa"] who had a monster tackle in the first quarter.

[player_tooltip player_id="25281" first="Quincy" last="Craig"]: Craig is the one of the most versatile high school players I have ever seen. He can play nearly any position on the field. He forced a fumble on defense and flied up the field to make tackles from the safety position. His speed makes it hard for receivers and linemen to block him down the field. He would be a great asset for any college program.

[player_tooltip player_id="195568" first="Tanner" last="Williams"]: Nobody has had his stock rise higher during the playoffs than the sophomore edge rusher. Williams led the Monarchs in tackles with seven. He had four tackles for a loss and two sacks. His speed is outstanding and he has room to put on some muscle. The combination of him and Bailey on the edge is almost unfair.

[player_tooltip player_id="25447" first="Levi" last="Sua"]: Much like the defensive line, multiple Mater Dei linebackers had big games. Sua has incredible sideline to sideline speed for a linebacker and covers so much of the field. He made a tackle on a running back swing pass near the sideline from the middle of the field. He is a superb tackler with a high football IQ who the coaching staff raves about.

SERVITE
[player_tooltip player_id="25227" first="Tetairoa" last="McMillan"]: As good of a receiver as McMillan is, I think he is an even better safety. He had three interceptions in the fourth quarter of the Division 1 quarterfinals against Santa Margarita. He had a huge interception against Mater Dei to keep them off the scoreboard after a turnover. He’s one of the best players in the state by anyone’s standards.

[player_tooltip player_id="141891" first="Mason" last="Graham"]: Graham had multiple tackles for a loss and was often double teamed by the Mater Dei offensive line. The Michigan commit plays both ways which makes his defensive performance even more impressive. On any play where Mater Dei gained less than five yards, Graham was in on the tackle.

Ethan Scaffidi: The junior corner was in man coverage on an island a lot of the game and had a great game with the exception of two plays. Scaffidi and the Servite secondary held Mater Dei to just 110 yards passing. He also made big plays on special teams. He has a nose for the ball and flies up the field while defending the run. Scaffidi is also a lacrosse star at Servite.

Zion Sims: Sims made a huge play on the first play of the game. A ball was tipped and he dove for an interception while being blocked. He gave the Friars excellent field position which led to the team's only touchdown of the game. Sims also made some big tackles on runs down the field and got some hurries in the backfield.
