C.E. Murray (7-1) at Bamberg-Ehrhardt (12-0)
This is a rematch from last year’s playoffs in which Bamberg-Ehrhardt scored in the final minute to eliminate C.E. Murray.
This time, it’s going to be two high-powered offenses going against a couple of rugged defenses.
C.E. Murray reached the semi-finals with an easy 47-0 victory over Whale Branch. Tyree Prunes threw for a touchdown while passing for 142 yards and rushing for 34 more. Quentarius Grant added 93 yards rushing and three touchdowns.
This might have been the War Eagles best defensive effort of the season. [player_tooltip player_id="123264" first="Amond" last="Myers"] had a 45-yard interception return for a touchdown and Justin Graham added a fumble return for another score. Prunes registered an interception. Que’shay Gamble, Nicholas Brown and Graham combined for 17 tackles for loss.
Bamberg-Ehrhardt continued its undefeated season with a 33-6 thrashing of Baptist Hill. The Red Raiders ran for over 300 yards with Quinton Banks leading the way. Banks ran for 152 yards and two touchdowns. Nick Folk added 135 yards and a 60-yard scoring burst and [player_tooltip player_id="91201" first="Quincy" last="Bias"] added another rushing score to go along with 53 yards.
The defense is allowing less than nine points per game, and they limited a Baptist Hill team averaging more than 40 points per game to just a single touchdown.
Jerome Simmons, Christian Draper, Yzorion Washington and Bias all recorded sacks and they capped the scoring with a safety.
