Cardinal Gibbons v. Panther Creek Offensive Highlights

I was on the sidelines for the fourth-round playoff game between Cardinal Gibbons HS and Panther Creek HS.  I observed Cardinal Gibbons high-powered offense control the game with the ground attack for the majority of the game.  The players’ listed performances were outstanding throughout the game. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="117098" first="Connor" last="Clark"], QB, 6’6" 220, Cardinal Gibbons HS</strong>.  Connor displayed calmness and leadership while directing the offensive unit.  He has a quick release on his throwing motion.  Connor displayed good arm strength on the short-range and long-ball throws.  The passes were delivered on target with accuracy in the pocket and on the run.  He tucked it and ran when needed to gain yardage.  [player_tooltip player_id="117098" first="Connor" last="Clark"] completed 5 of 9 passes for 71yards and 2 TDs. <strong>Donovan Shepard, RB, 5’9" 165, Cardinal Gibbons HS</strong>.  Donovan displayed patience while following blockers to gain tough yardage while running inside.  Donovan displayed the speed to get outside and accelerate past defenders to gain yardage.  He plays at a high-energy level throughout the game.  Donovan Shepard had 19 carries for 142 yards, gaining tough yardage while running inside. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="144696" first="Blake" last="Raphael"]. RB, 6’0" 195, Cardinal Gibbons HS</strong>.  Blake displayed good hands on the pass play for the reception in the end zone for a score.  He showed patience while following blockers and accelerating in openings to gain yardage.  [player_tooltip player_id="144696" first="Blake" last="Raphael"] had 8 carries for 39 yards and 2 TDs. <strong>Thomas Garofolo, T, 6’3" 210, Cardinal Gibbons HS</strong>.  Thomas displayed good footwork and technique while controlling defenders.  He displayed quickness out of his stance to make contact with defenders while opening lanes for the running backs.  The offensive line controlled the line of scrimmage throughout the game. <strong>Watt Brown, T, 6’4" 245, Cardinal Gibbons HS</strong>.  Watt displayed good footwork and technique while controlling defenders.  He displayed quickness out of his stance and used leverage against defenders while opening lanes for the running backs.  The offensive line controlled the line of scrimmage throughout the game. <strong>Jake Taylor, TE, 6’5" 220, Cardinal Gibbons HS</strong>.  Jake ran a good pass route and separation from defenders on the TD reception in the end zone.  He displayed good footwork and technique on solid blocking to open lanes for the running backs throughout the game. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="131246" first="Amari" last="Odom"], QB, 6’3" 170, Panther Creek HS</strong>.  Amari displayed a quick release on the short passes.  He made a few accurate throws while scrambling in the pocket.  [player_tooltip player_id="131246" first="Amari" last="Odom"] was under constant pressure throughout the game and tucked it and ran in for a score on one play.  [player_tooltip player_id="131246" first="Amari" last="Odom"] is a talented dual-threat quarterback who completed 24 of 42 passes for 336 yards, 1 TD and 1 int. <strong>Kalen Luten, RB, 5’9" 170, Panther Creek HS</strong>.  Kalen displayed good hands on a pass play for a catch in traffic.  He did a good job of following blockers to gain tough yardage.  Kalen Luten continued to drive his legs after initial contact was made on each play. <strong>Jesse Powell II, WR, 6’4" 195, Panther Creek HS</strong>.  Jesse displayed good hands on the catches in traffic.  He displayed good speed and separation from defenders on his pass routes.  Jesse used his body to shield defender on a TD reception.  He is a tall wide receiver who uses his size to his advantage.  Jesse Powell finished with 6 receptions for 119 yards. <strong>Bradley Garrity, WR, 5’8" 160, Panther Creek HS</strong>.  Bradley ran good pass routes and separated from defenders to make catches.  He uses his speed and quickness to elude defenders in tight spaces.  Bradley Garrity had 9 receptions for 95 yards. &nbsp;
