Willis
QB DJ Lagway | 6’2 210lbs | Sophomore
One of the most sought-after C/O ’24 QB recruits in the nation is Willis quarterback, DJ Lagway. He is the ideal duel threat prospect you look for. Lagway has great form and technique and you can see that with the drive he’s able to put on the ball. He was dotting up the Dekaney defense in the second half all over the field. His rushing ability is diverse. He can run through defenders or make them miss in the open field. Lagway’s two passing touchdowns and 43 yards he added on the ground helped seal the comeback and shows why he has offers from the likes of LSU, Texas A&M, TCU, and plenty of others.
WR Tallas Harrison | 6’0 170lbs | Senior
When the Wildkats needed to pick up yards, DJ Lagway would look for Tallas Harrison. His 92 yards were tops on the team but his talent spoke for itself. He runs a good mix of routes, lines up inside and outside, has some outstanding releases off the line, and is difficult to bring down after the catch. He hauled in a nice sideline pass that displayed not only his sideline awareness but knowing where is he in relation to the zone coverage. He extends his hands out to catch the ball and then with the ball in his hands, busts through defenders with strength and speed. He did all of these on a corner route that he took 60-yards for a touchdown. Harrison seems to be flying under the radar, with 2 offers from Howard Payne and Bethel College, but I can’t see that remaining the case as they advance to the next round of the playoffs.
LB Aiden Collier | 6’0 180lbs | Senior
This young man absolutely flies around the field. He reads his keys quickly, doesn’t hesitate, and makes plays. His 16 tackles and five tackles for loss were both game-highs. To add to his ability to get to where he needs to be, he is forceful on contact. Collier popped out on the field Friday night where you saw him continuously shut down the run game and make hits you can hear from the stands.
Dekaney
WR Jonah Wilson Jonah Wilson 6'3" | 200 lbs | WR Dekaney | 2023 State TX | 6’3 195lbs | Junior
If you like a well rounded receiver with incredible jump ball skills, then look at for Jonah Wilson Jonah Wilson 6'3" | 200 lbs | WR Dekaney | 2023 State TX . He already has D1 offers but with another season under his belt, there is a lot to look forward to. Wilson had a game-high 110 receiving yards and posted a touchdown as well. He runs a good vertical route tree. He has good control and hips to be able to break down his feet to run a hitch or come back and create separation. Pressing Wilson usually ends in him receiving a deep ball and creating a big play. It’s really a pick your poison game with covering Wilson.
LB Brandon Joseph | 6’0 215lbs | Junior
Brandon Joseph’s athleticism popped out on the field on his 12 tackles. He was crucial in preventing some big plays from happening with his hard-hitting and secure tackling. Joseph moves well through traffic in the run game, sheds blocks, and brings down ball carriers. One thing that really stands out about Joseph is his explosiveness. You see it in him coming off the ball, making contact, changing direction to get to the ball carrier, and even when he runs the ball some on offense. Joseph has the size, grit, and athleticism you want in a linebacker today, making him the total package without any major offers that I can see.
