Ranked #3 in Houston Atascocita Eagles (7-2) vs #4 in Houston North Shore Mustangs (9-1). I have seen both these two teams play before and have been following their progress throughout the whole season. Coming into this game I thought both teams were evenly matched it was hard to say who would win this game. When the game started my assessment was correct neither team could score nor completely stop the other. Both teams were tied at half. However, after the half North Shore Mustangs scored on the 1st play of the 3rd quarter giving them the momentum for the rest of the game. The final score was 31-21 with The North Shore Mustangs coming out victorious. Unfortunately, Atascocita Eagles lost they’re still top 5 in Houston. They had a lot of standouts on both sides of the ball I’ll be discussing the defensive standouts.
#10 Deion Campbell CB Jr 5’10 170 lbs
Deion Campbell was a persistent cornerback. Deion was stuck on his man like white on rice. Deion used his speed to provide great coverage and if he saw the ball up in the air he instantly pursued where it was going. Deion will continue to be a big asset for The Atascocita Eagles defense.
#8 Davon Bacon CB Sr 5’10 170 lbs
Davon Bacon is a great defensive cornerback. Davon is fast and very aggressive. If a pass was made in his zone he definitely made his presence known. I’m sure by the end of playoffs Davon will start to standout a lot more than he does now.
#27 Caleb Hudson DE, DT Sr 6’1 245 lbs
I love to watch defensive linemen like Caleb Hudson. Caleb is a powerful defensive tackle and is very agile. Caleb was fast off the ball and delivered a strong strike the offensive line and then penetrate through. Caleb was usually in the backfield stopping the run and making sacks. Caleb is a college prospect having college offers from Louisiana College and East Texas Baptist University.
#30 Micah Tate DE, OLB Sr 6’3 225 lbs
The middle is secured with outside linebacker #30 Micah Tate. Micah is big and powerful. Whenever, Micah made a tackle it made an impact. Micah was a strong and quick blitzer there were a few plays that Micah was able to make the tackle as soon as North Shore Mustang’s running back touched the ball. Micah currently has one college offer from East Texas Baptist University.
