Some have already received offers but there should be more teams looking their way. Other players have none, which amazes me because talent this list. Either way here are 7 Seniors that have alot of talent and not enough exposure, let’s change that!
Pafele Ashlock WR 6’2″ 175lbs Euless Trinity
Pafele Ashlock is a remarkable talent that can just about do it all from the wide receiver position from snap to whistle. Good route running , high points the ball with good hands, has excellent vision after the catch and the speed to take it all the way. An exciting player to watch, Pafele has this burst of speed when would-be tacklers come in range that finds him by himself on his way to the endzone.
Jaxon Yarbrough DB 5’9″ 175lbs Grapevine HS
38solo 63total tackles 6TFL 2Sacks 1int 5pass deflections
A captain for his team , Jaxon Yarbrough brings the leadership and intensity to the Grapevine defense. Yarbrough is a versatile player lining up at Cornerback , Nickle, Safety and playing them at a high level. The offense doesnt throw his way too often from what I’ve seen. Yarbrough can stay over the top of his reciever in coverage , isnt afraid of contact and has a good presence on the field. With his willingness to tackle I think the nickle position is where he could be most valuable , shutting down the pass and the run.
Michael Giordano RB 5’10” 175lbs Byron Nelson
118Carries 839yds 14TD
Giordano is a shifty downhill runner that can find space in between the tackles. An excellent blocker in pass protection , he will identify his defender and gives his Quaterback more time in the pocket. In the redzone Michael Giordano wants the touchdown! The combo of his blocking and redzone skills tells me he will do what it takes for his team to win.
John Rasmussen DE 6’3″ 250lbs Arlington HS
Rasmussen has some impressive hand fighting in the trenches at the Defensive End postion. Absolute trouble for offensive tackles , John Rasmussen is a hard guy to block in the pass game or run. You can see him shoot off the line of scrimmage and is an instant disruption in the backfield. I am surprised Rasmussen doesnt have more offers for such a valuable position, with his size and athleticism teams should be lining up at his door.
Margarito Salazar QB/DB 5’9″ 160lbs Northside HS
A shifty Quaterback in the pocket , Salazar is hard to get your hands on. Salazar has the ability to gain positive yardage to make big plays out of nothing. Handles the read option very well and has elusiveness and athleticism to get away from defenders attempting to tackle him. With his speed and field awareness I could see Salazar being very usefully to an OC.
Caleb Ford CB 6′ 170lbs Richland HS
1int 3 Pass Deflections 3FF 1 FG Block
Ford is such a great player in coverage, running step for step with his reciever, looks for the football and is in the right spot every time. Ford is also a big contributor on special teams , is an excellent tackler and plays aggressive. Ford can force a turnover at any moment. Already having some offers but I feel like he needs extra recognition.
Irving Lopez ATH 5’8″ 165lbs Northside HS
Lopez is a dominant presence on the football field. Irving Lopez is an athlete for sure , playing Safety, return team as well as Punter and kicker all at a high level. Putting Kickoffs threw the endzone on special teams while also setting the tone on defense at Saftey. A sure tackler that is also good in pass coverage, if he intercepts the ball Lopez is always looking to run it back for 6! If given the chance I feel like Irving Lopez can step up and make plays at any level.
