Continue ReadingHouston playoffs keep getting better every single week. Round three I decided to go watch The Atascocita Eagles (11-2) vs The Ridge Points Panthers (11-2). Both teams are top 10 in Houston and favorited to win the state championship this year. The game started off strong with both teams stopping each other from scoring. The Atascocita Eagles were the 1st to score before the 2nd half. During the 2nd half both teams were scoring back to back, but The Ridge Point Panthers couldn’t catch up to The Atascocita Eagles the final score was 24-21 with The Atascocita Eagles moving on to regional finals. The Ridge Point Panthers might have lost, but they had a lot of outstanding athletes on both sides of the ball and I’ll be discussing the offensive standouts.
#6 Kerien Charlo WR Sr 5’8 160 lbs
Kerien Charlo is a phenomenal wide receiver. Kerien is fast off the ball, quick feet and great footwork. When Kerien wasn’t running routes he was great at supporting his team by blocking. Kerien has stood out to two colleges having offers from Salt Rivers Junior College and Friends University. One of these two schools is where Kerien will continue his football career. Kerien ended the night with one receiving touchdown.
#3 Bert Emanuel Jr QB Sr 6’4 205 lbs
Bert Emanuel Jr is a great quarterback. Bert has a reliable arm throwing precision passes all night long and is capable of quick decisions making while under pressure. Bert is also great at scrambling being fast enough to take advantage of any hole or path he saw. Bert is a roundabout player and the core to Ridge Point’s offense. Bert is a college prospect having offers from Texas Southern University, Army Football, Dartmouth College, The University of Colorado and Lamar University. Bert ended the night by rushing in for a touchdown himself and threw for two touchdown passes.
#8 Marvin Session WR, TE Sr 6’2 195 lbs
Marvin Session is a dependable and reliable wide receiver. Marvin was a great target for Bert he was in a great position to catch a pass. Marvin is a big body and strong not only that he is quick and fast. Using his speed to get open for quick pass and even dashing down the field for passes. Marvin was able to catch a pass on the end zone, unfortunately it got called back because of a flag. Marvin is a college prospect having three offers from Salt Rivers Junior College, East Texas Baptist University, and Lawrence Technical University.
#10 Wilson Batiste WR Sr 6’4
Wilson Batiste had a great night against The Atascocita Eagles. Wilson is a wide receiver and with his speed and quickness he should be. Wilson was agile and quick off the ball I saw him mainly catch quick passes go out of bounds and get the 1st down. Wilson on one play pretended he was doing a short stop then cut up on the defender’s left, got down field, caught the pass and scored the touchdown.
