<p class="p1"><span class="s1">In week 8, the defenses could shine in region play. For the Northern portion of the Wiregrass, there are stars at all schools on the defensive side of the ball. </span></p>
<p class="p3"><span class="s2">Here are a few defensive standouts to watch this week in crucial region play. </span></p>
<p class="p3"><span class="s2">Andrew Galloway | 5-6 CB | Brantley</span></p>
<p class="p3"><span class="s2">Galloway is a great cornerback that can stay stride for stride with receivers. He can step into routes and get interceptions and is solid at breaking up passes in any coverage. </span></p>
<p class="p3"><span class="s2">[player_tooltip player_id="125533" first="Jaeden" last="Jackson"] | 6-2 DE | G.W. Long</span></p>
<p class="p3"><span class="s2">Jackson is a star at G.W Long. The 6’2” defensive end can work his way into the backfield for a big time tackle and is always present on every snap. Even when he isn’t getting pressure, Jackson makes his presence known to the opposing offensive lineman. He can get off blocks and get tackles at the line of scrimmage and has been getting more offers as the season continues. </span></p>
<p class="p3"><span class="s2">Derrion Crossley | 6-3 SS, CB | Dale County</span></p>
<p class="p3"><span class="s2">Crossley is a star on the defensive end for Dale County. He can make quick tackles and is a force in pass coverage. </span></p>
<p class="p3"><span class="s2">Kyron Danzy | 6-5 DT | Ariton</span></p>
<p class="p3"><span class="s2">Danzy is a great defensive tackle for Ariton. He can work his way past blockers to pressure the backfield and get big time tackles. He can also break up passes at the line of scrimmage. </span></p>
<p class="p3"><span class="s2">Keeshawn Glanton | 5-11 MLB | Luverne</span></p>
<p class="p3"><span class="s2">Glanton is a solid linebacker that makes tackles all over the field. Luverne is undefeated entering Week 8. Glanton and the defense have played solid ball this season. He can break up passes and get pressure in the backfield on any play. </span></p>
<p class="p3"><span class="s2">KJ Bristow | 5-10 CB | Goshen </span></p>
<p class="p3"><span class="s2">Bristow is a solid cornerback that is elusive in coverage and can be a force on deep routes. He can break up passes or step into the route to earn a key interception. Bristow is a good tackler and can make tackles anywhere on the field. </span></p>
<p class="p3"><span class="s2">Jaylin Jiles | 5-11 LB | Carroll</span></p>
<p class="p3"><span class="s2">Jiles is a solid linebacker at Carroll that has been a big part of their defense’s success in 2021. He can blitz and get into the backfield in a hurry for a key tackle for loss and can sack the quarterback on any play. When he drops into coverage, Jiles is a versatile defender. </span></p>
