We had some very competitive games and some where keys players showed their skills and why they ended up on this lists. Make sure to become familiar with some of these names because they will be ones you will see more often heading into the playoffs soon.
WR Ben Ferguson (2022) – The Woodlands
Ferguson was a nightmare for his opponents Friday night. He was one of his quarterbacks favorite targets on the night and did not disappoint with the ball in his hands. Ferguson showed that he is a threat at all levels on his routes and can make a team pay for not keeping tabs on him. Ferguson had 190 yards receiving on 6 catches with 3 touchdowns, and a long of 54 yards. Ben was ballin and shows no signs of slowing down!
QB Cardell Williams Cardell Williams 6'2" | 170 lbs | QB Westfield | 2022 State TX (2022) – Westfield
Williams was feeling it vs. Dekaney and was delivering on the night. Williams showed poise and great skills from in and out of the pocket, putting the ball where only his receivers could get to it. He has been good all year but this performance here was nothing short of spectacular. Williams went 14/20 for 374 yards and 7 touchdowns! Overall a great performance from he and the receiving corp.
ATH Randy “Bobo” Masters (20220) – Yates
Masters was in a class of his own Friday night. I had to list him as an athlete because he was doing it all. He showed his shiftiness with the ball in his hands, his speed and quickness on routs, and overall great football instincts. Masters was doing everything needed to get his team a W and it worked out. Masters finished his incredible night with a Pick 6, 4 receiving touchdowns, and a punt return for a touchdown for a total of 6, YES 6 TOTAL TOUCHDOWNS!
RB Santana Scott (2023) – Morton Ranch
Scott has proven for majority of the season that he is a straight playmaker who will get things down when needed. His play style is one to awe over, as he plays much bigger than he is and always keeps the legs churning. Scott is a player who can line up in the slot as well and plays comfortable in space, where he can make peopel miss with ease or even overpower them. On Thursday night Scott carried the ball 26 times for 241 rushing yards with a long of 31 yards, and also added 2 catches for 30 yards in a big win for the Mavericks.
QB Fielding Craft (2022) – Cy Woods
Craft played a vital role in the upset win vs. the undefeated Cy Park Tigers. A lot was put on his shoulders but the best part is, he did not shy away. Craft went 11/17, passing for 180 yards and 2 touchdowns, and also ran the ball 28 times for 84 yards, and 3 touchdowns. It was a dog fight the entire night and Craft showed his incredible competitive nature, doing everything in his power to pull out the victory.
RB Ja’Mareion Gipson (2022) – Langham Creek
Gipson had himself a game vs. Cy Ranch Saturday night. He had some incredible runs of 26 yards and 80 yards where he kept his team in the game just as it seemed as they were fading behind. Gipson showed his great open field speed and quickness to outrun the defense and hit the lanes to get good yardage.
Other Notable Performances:
RB Raymond Edwards (2024) – Clear Springs
23 carries – 232 yards – 2 touchdowns
RB Sam McKnight (2023) – Cinco Ranch
11 carries – 125 yards – 2 touchdowns
WR AJ Rice (2022) – Angleton
