Delran stomped on Burlington City 54-14 leading from start to finish. Here are the key performances that decided the outcome of the game.
[player_tooltip player_id="136734" first="Zachary" last="Palmer-Smith"] HB, Delran
The first thing that stands out about this young man, is his size at the position. Standing at 6’1 210 he not only plays running back but also is a standout linebacker, which is indicative of his running style. He showed excellent burst through holes and ran with explosiveness and showed good speed for a bigger back. After coming off two back-to-back 300+ yard games in record-setting performances. He followed that up by rushing for 153 yards three touchdowns on nine carries forcing four missed tackles after contact. Also adding two 30+ yard touchdown runs. Zach Palmer-Smith was a big play waiting to happen and couldn’t be stopped in this game.

[player_tooltip player_id="181955" first="Derek" last="Namnun"] QB, Delran
The most underrated quality that is overlooked for QBs is how does the offense look when they’re in the game. [player_tooltip player_id="181955" first="Derek" last="Namnun"] ran his offense smoothly while making key throws when he needed to. He tossed two touchdown passes with one coming on a screen and the other on a post route where he delivered a beautiful and accurate football with good ball placement that gave the receiver the opportunity to make a play after the catch. He started out a little shaky in this game but held it together and showed poise and toughness, and earned his team nickname of little Russell Wilson.

[player_tooltip player_id="27968" first="Kenny" last="Fletcher"] DEF, Delran
He gets the defensive designation because he had snaps everywhere from linebacker to nose tackle causing havoc all game. He started the game by recording 3 tackles for loss on Delran’s first defensive series quickly making his presence felt. As the second half ended he forced a bad throw from the quarterback ultimately causing an interception that was returned for a touchdown. Burlington City really had no answer for the Rutgers commit and tried to avoid him as much as they could. He proved why some consider him the best Edge recruit in the state. For a player who is every bit of 6’5 215 he played with great leverage and used his hands really well showcasing the strength, explosiveness, and versatility it takes to be an impactful defensive player at higher levels of football.

Aaron Young WR, Burlington City
Although there wasn't really much to take away on the Burlington City side Aaron Young did make some impressive plays. A very versatile player with snaps at both QB and WR. At WR, he ran a nine route and won on tight coverage in a contested-catch situation for Burlington City's first touchdown of the game. It was a great display of giving your tall WR a chance to make a play on the football and an impressive play by Young to use his frame and physical gifts to make the catch.
