I decided to attend the game at Darnell Tully Stadium where The Stratford Spartans(6-0) played against The Spring Woods Tigers(3-3). The Stratford Spartans was dominating all night long. Starting very early on with Stratford scoring three touchdowns in the 1st two minutes. Spring Wood Tigers couldn’t do a single thing against The Stratford Spartans. They were no match against their offense or defense. The final score was a whooping 52-0 with The Stratford Spartans staying undefeated. The Stratford Spartans had standouts on both sides of the ball. I’ll be discussing the offensive standouts.
#34 Johnny Crawford RB, MLB So
One of the players that helped set the tempo early on was Johnny Crawford. Johnny didn’t get a chance to play as running back, except for a couple plays. However, when he was on kickoff Johnny was able to get a fumble recovery and take the offense to the 10 yard line. This helped The Stratford Spartans score their third touchdown giving them the momentum for the rest of the game.
#28 Jordan Smith RB Sr 6’1 215 lbs
Talk about a standout running back #28 Jordan Smith. Jordan was top notch he was a fast and powerful runner. If Jordan had space to run and maneuver there was no touching him. Even when Jordan didn’t have the space or a path to run through he was able to clear the way himself. Jordan was able to effortlessly break tackles and if he did get tackled it almost took the whole Spring Wood defense to bring him down. I was really impressed by Jordan’s performance I’m sure by the end of his senior year he’ll become a top college prospect. Jordan ended the night with two touchdowns.
#88 Hawkins Polley Hawkins Polley 6'4" | 220 lbs | TE Stratford | 2023 State TX TE, WR Jr 6’4 240 lbs
The 1st player I saw on the field was #88 Hawkins Polley Hawkins Polley 6'4" | 220 lbs | TE Stratford | 2023 State TX . Hawkins is a gigantic wide receiver and tight end being 6’4 and having solid built already him standout. Hawkins however, is more than just his size put the ball in his hands he’ll definitely get results. Hawkins rarely dropped passes and when he catch them he always got a 1st down. Hawkins also had speed and long stride his point A to B was drastically different from everyone else. I’m not the only one impressed by Hawkin’s skills and size, he has a top college prospect as a junior having tons of offers from colleges and universities. Hawkins has offers from Kansas University, USC, SMU, University of Houston, Vanderbilt University, Baylor University and etc. Hawkins ended the night with one touchdown.
#6 Anderson Dinh FS, CB, WR Fr
The Stratford Spartans potential and talent is crazy especially in their #6 Anderson Dinh. Anderson is a wide receiver and probably the fastest player on The Stratford Spartans roster. And to top it all off Anderson is a freshman. For this young man to be this quick and fast is truly amazing. One play Anderson went into motion got the pop pass and zoom passed the whole Spring Wood defense and ran it down for a 90 yard touchdown. Unfortunately, it got called back for a holding call, but then ran the same play later and Anderson ran for a 70 yard touchdown. I’m definitely to keep tabs on Anderson development because he’s definitely going to one of best prospects in the state.
