Below, we will list and breakdown some impressive offensive performances from across the Northern California region in Week 6.
RB Dion Coleman, Chico HS
Coleman is emerging as one of the top 2024 backs across the state and has the ideal frame and versatility for the next level. Already rushing for nearly 900 yards and 15+ touchdowns through the first half the season, he is poised for a huge second half as he continues to establish himself on the Varsity level. On tape, he is a very twitchy runner that shows strong vision in tight windows and explodes through the first level, while possessing ideal short area quickness and lateral movement abilities. A tough runner especially for his size, he runs with impressive contact balance and forward lean while also showing a third level gear in the open field. Coleman is a FBS caliber talent and it shouldn’t be long until he reels in his first offer.
RB Ryan Warkentin, Reedley HS
Warkentin has been putting together a very nice Senior season and is one of the most explosive and dynamic players across the central valley. He displays excellent acceleration through the hole while adding impressive third level speed and can effortlessly make defenders miss in the open field. Running strong behind his pads and through contact, he is a very dynamic player that can catch the ball from various angles and always gains positive yards after contact.
ATH Reese Catchings, Oak Ridge HS
Catchings is among the best across the section and tough SFL and is having a fantastic start to his Senior season. On tape, he shows he can play multiple positions in the backfield, from the slot and in the return game as well. Dynamic with the ball in the open field, he has good overall speed and strong hands while able to consistently make big plays due to his burst, balance and lateral agility. Most likely to find his home as a slot receiver at the next level, he is a college caliber player that can help a program at the next level.
