Watauga v. Freedom Offensive Highlights

I was on the sidelines for the conference matchup between the two teams.  The players listed performances were outstanding and caught my attention throughout the game: <strong>Maddox Greene, QB, 5’9" 145, Watauga HS</strong>.  Maddox remained in the pocket while under pressure to throw accurate short-range passes.  He displayed the ability to tuck and run when needed to avoid being sacked to gain yardage.  Maddox is a quick slashing-style runner who ran past defenders into the end zone to score.  He is tough and durable after taking some solid hits throughout the game.  Maddox Greene displayed good poise for a young quarterback in directing the offense. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="50908" first="William" last="(Trey) Thompson"], RB, 5’11" 180, Watauga HS</strong>.  Trey has stepped up his performance since the Spring Season.  It is a plus for him standing up coming out of the backfield and accelerating into the open lanes at full-speed.  Trey ran with power and speed while following his blockers gaining tough yardage.  He displayed the speed and quickness to get around the corner to gain yardage on the sweep plays.  Trey displayed good hands on the pass plays and ability to gain yardage after the catch.  Trey Thompson was a triple threat at running back while displaying the ability to consistently run between the tackles, the speed to get around the corner, and good hands on pass plays. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="97527" first="Orlando" last="Leon"], TE, 6’2" 190, Watauga HS</strong>.  Orlando ran good pass routes and the ability to separate from defender to make the catch.  He displayed good hands and speed to accelerate past defenders in the open field while scoring twice.  [player_tooltip player_id="97527" first="Orlando" last="Leon"] makes the initial tackler miss and does not go down after initial contact is made. <strong>Grant Lawrence, OT, 6’3" 290, Watauga HS</strong>.  Grant displayed good technique and footwork to control the defender.  He used his size and strength while opening lanes for the running backs.  Grant Lawrence was a dominant force on the offensive line throughout the game. <strong>Eli Greene, OG, 6’2" 260, Watauga HS</strong>.  Eli displayed good technique and footwork while controlling defenders.  He displayed strong drive-blocking on the running plays.  Eli Greene was a dominant force on the offensive line throughout the game. <strong>Jaylen Barnett, 5’9" 160, Freedom HS</strong>.  Jaylen remained in the pocket while under pressure to deliver accurate short-range passes.  He displayed the ability to tuck it and run to avoid being sacked.  Jaylen Barnett did a good job of running to gain yardage throughout the game. <strong>BG Hampton, RB, 5’11" 225, Freedom HS</strong>.  BG followed his blockers and provided strong inside running on several plays throughout the game.  He displayed good hands while making catches on pass plays.  BG Hampton ran with power and speed and was tough to bring down. <strong>Jesus Becerra, OT, 6’3" 240, Freedom HS</strong>.  Jesus displayed good technique and footwork while controlling defenders.  He was quick out of his stance to open up lanes for the running backs on several plays. &nbsp;
