The Timberwolves now have a three-game winning streak heading into this week’s contest against Weiss. The Timberwolves offense has found its stride after facing some tough losses to Vandegrift, Round Rock and Hendrickson in the first half of the season. Check out the top players from this game.
1. Josh Pell (SR-QB) – Cedar Park High School (Cedar Park, TX)
Stats: 236 passing yards, 4 passing touchdowns
Pell was accurate and calm in the pocket. His offense line provided great protection and each throw was in the perfect spot on the route, allowing the receivers to get as many yards as they can or score. Pell was playing as well as he has. He was focused in the pocket and made very few mistakes.
2. Jaylon Reeves (SR-QB) – Pflugerville High School (Pflugerville, TX)
Stats: 178 passing yards, 1 passing touchdown, 2 interceptions, 114 rushing yards, 2 rushing touchdowns
Although Reeves threw two interceptions, he was instrumental on the ground, providing much of the Panthers’ ground game. Pflugerville had to fight for every point, but Reeves showcased that fight in the Pflugerville offense as he broke multiple tackles on each play to get as much as he could. He also showcased his speed, able to outrun most of the Timberwolf defense.
3. Donald Springs (SR-WR) – Pflugerville High School (Pflugerville, TX)
Stats: 7 receptions, 127 receiving yards
Springs has been one of Reeves’ favorite targets this season and there is many reasons why. Springs runs his routes perfectly and has excellent hands. He can catch almost any pass including ones in tight coverage.
4. Gavin Mundell (SR-RB) – Cedar Park High School (Cedar Park, TX)
Stats: 92 rushing yards
5. Grant Nichols (SR-WR) – Cedar Park High School (Cedar Park, TX)
Stats: 3 receptions, 97 receiving yards
