1. Sidney Mbanasor (SR-WR) – Pflugerville High School (Pflugerville, TX)
Stats: 3 receptions, 147 receiving yards, 3 receiving touchdowns
The Leander secondary had no answers for Mbanasor as he towered over each defender with his 6’5″ frame. He was unstoppable, impossible to take down and could rarely be covered. He was the go-to man whenever Pflugerville threw the ball and opposing defenses will continue to struggle against him just on size alone.
2. Jake Iloka Jake Iloka 5'9" | 170 lbs | RB Pflugerville | 2023 State TX (JR-RB) – Pflugerville High School (Pflugerville, TX)
Stats: 205 rushing yards, 4 rushing touchdowns
Another impossible Panther to stop for Leander was Iloka. Before this game, he had just two rushing touchdowns, but after his scoring frenzy as can be seen above, he now totals six rushing touchdowns on the season. He was fast, agile and could evade almost every tackle. This was arguably a high school career night for Iloka.
3. Elijah Oakmon Elijah Oakmon 5'9" | 190 lbs | RB Pflugerville | 2022 TX (SR-RB) – Pflugerville High School (Pflugerville, TX)
Stats: 180 rushing yards, 2 rushing touchdowns
Although not putting up the monster numbers Iloka did, Oakmon still had a heck of a game. He too was tough to bring down for Leander and his power is one of the main reasons why. Even after being wrapped up, he could still keep himself off the ground and continue trucking along. The duo of Iloka and Oakmon was a problem for defenses last season, and it looks like the same will happen this season.
4. Alexander Franklin III (SR-RB) – Leander High School (Leander, TX)
Stats: 127 rushing yards, 1 rushing touchdown
Although Leander struggled one offense, one player who seemed to consistently find success was Franklin. The Pflugerville defense had the most struggles stopping him and although the Lions faced a brutal defeat, Franklin continues to show consistent playmaking ability regardless of the opponent.
5. Donald Springs (SR-DB) – Pflugerville High School (Pflugerville, TX)
Stats: 1 interception
Although the entire Pflugerville defense deserves top marks, Springs is worth noting simply because of his coverage on the interception play. He was in the perfect spot to get the pick with ease, and taking advantage of a missed throw from Leander.
