We have made it into the back half of the 2021 football season here in Tennessee, so it's time to start adjusting and updating our senior prospect rankings.
The quarterbacks are up first and this position has increased it's stock and profile over the season as several signal callers have taken great strides in their games and shown talents on the field worthy of college interest while others have regressed.
Here are some of the biggest movers in our latest quarterback rankings
#TN2022 QB Rankings - View the updated rankings here!
[player_tooltip player_id="102005" first="Kyle" last="Lowe"] (6'0 190) - Fayette Ware (Moved to 3rd Overall; Previously 4th)
- Lowe has put together a monster season thus far and is in strong consideration to win Mr. Football in Class 4A this year. This was not a big move for Lowe in terms of rankings but the Wildcats star has established himself easily as the 3rd best quarterback in this class. Lowe has the upside and potential to develop into a big time player with his time at MTSU.
[player_tooltip player_id="204839" first="George" last="Hamsley"] (6'4 200) - MUS (Went from unranked to 6th Overall)
- A precision passer with size and arm talent, Hamsley took his strong offseason work into the 2021 year and has excelled. The Owls quarterback has put together a strong senior campaign thus far where he has improved his strength, play recognition and mobility. These improved traits have increased his stock as a college recruit as several new FCS and D1 programs are beginning to take interest.
[player_tooltip player_id="150811" first="Joseph" last="Cummings"] (6'3 200) - Independence (Moved up several spots to 8th Overall)
- Cummings is one of the best pure passers in this state and this senior season, he has proved it. A strong armed pocket passer with high football IQ, Cummings has taken a step in his maturation at quarterback and pushed his recruiting stock higher with collegiate coaches. His Eagles team has had some struggles this year but they have faced strong competition and yet still, Cummings has his team positioned for a postseason run.
[player_tooltip player_id="150815" first="Cooper" last="Wick"] (6'3 190) - Baylor (Jumped up to 9th Overall from 22nd)
- Wick made one of the biggest leaps in our latest rankings and that's due to a strong senior season and upside for the next level. The Red Raiders senior signal caller sports nice size along with sound mechanics and the arm strength that translates to the college game. He has improved that arm strength while continuing to develop his athleticism and mobility. College programs have started to take notice of Wick too, so don't be surprised to see offers come his way soon.
[player_tooltip player_id="205349" first="William" last="Riddle"] (6'2 185) - McCallie (Went from unranked to 11th Overall)
- Riddle very well could be the biggest under the radar quarterback in-state that has not only improved his overall craft but done so well enough to put himself in consideration for college offers. The Blue Tornado team is in line for yet another D2-Class AAA state title and a big reason why is the play of Riddle. He plays fearless football along with a strong arm to place the ball wherever he wants and his film shows it. Look for more college programs to get involved with Riddle sooner than later.
[player_tooltip player_id="102129" first="Garrison" last="Barrett"] (6'4 215) - Volunteer (Jumped from 24th to 17th Overall)
- Barrett is one of the quarterbacks in the 2022 class that I feel has really improved his craft over the past year and when you watch his film, you see the development and upside for the next level. The Falcons senior passer is a big, physical presence in the pocket that has improved his mobility and it has helped his overall development. Barrett has a few FCS schools sniffing around and could be close to pulling the trigger on an offer. His senior film deserves the looks and interest!
[player_tooltip player_id="178387" first="Jeremiah" last="Salem"] (6'3 180) - Houston (Went from unranked to 18th Overall)
- One of the newest members to the state of Tennessee, Salem has come into the Mustangs program and owned the quarterback role and he looks good doing so. Salem is a nice looking prospect that while still needs work and development, he shows strong upside for the college game. He sports a quick release along with zip to push the ball down field quickly. Salem is a solid athlete too that works the pocket well.
[player_tooltip player_id="152954" first="Jacob" last="Dooley"] (6'1 190) - Waverly Central (Went from unranked to 19th Overall)
- Many may not have known much about Dooley headed into this Fall football season but he has strung together a stellar senior campaign thus far and placed himself on the map as a recruitable college prospect. Dooley is a strong leader that simply has a good feel for the position and knows how to succeed. He is a precision passer that maneuvers the pocket well and can beat a defense in a variety of ways. This guy is a gamer that college coaches should look at much harder.

- The top five quarterbacks in the state now consist of …#1 [player_tooltip player_id="101971" first="Ty" last="Simpson"], #2 [player_tooltip player_id="150806" first="Luther" last="Richesson"], #3 [player_tooltip player_id="102005" first="Kyle" last="Lowe"], #4 [player_tooltip player_id="102029" first="Cade" last="Law"] and #5 [player_tooltip player_id="150807" first="Jake" last="McNamara"]. All five of these quarterbacks have made their college decisions except Richesson. The Mustangs signal caller recently added an offer from Vanderbilt and could be on the verge of adding more, especially from the Power Five level.
