[player_tooltip player_id="25360" first="Tiger" last="Bachmeier"], Murrieta Valley, 2023
Murrieta Valley’s passing game shined in the Nighthawks’ 49-48 win over crosstown rival Vista Murrieta. Bachmeier put up big numbers as usual, catching 14 passes for 208 yards and four touchdowns. The 208 yards are a career-high for Bachmeier who has been a varsity player since his freshman season at Orange Lutheran. He is fourth in the Southern Section in receiving yards.

Bryant Carey, Downey, 2023
Downey had a nice tune up game against Lynwood before its big rivalry game this week against Warren for the San Gabriel Valley League championship. Carey had an efficient game receiving with 145 yards and three touchdowns on just four receptions. It was by far the best game of Carey’s career and he hadn’t scored yet this season up until this week. It will be interesting to see if he can replicate that performance against Warren this week.

[player_tooltip player_id="141966" first="Jake" last="George"], La Serna, 2022
La Serna has won seven games in a row and is rolling through the Del Rio League. The Lancers blew out a very good El Rancho team last week and the passing game was excellent. George caught 9 passes for 192 yards and a touchdown. It was only the second time this season that George has broken 100 yards receiving. He has an offer from New Mexico.

Jase Nix, San Marcos, 2025
San Marcos has had a rough season but the Knights nearly knocked off Torrey Pines in what would have been the biggest upset in San Diego this season. Freshman Jase Nix had a breakout game for San Marcos, catching eight passes for 116 yards and two touchdowns. It was the first time he exceeded 100 yards receiving in his career and I expect him to have many more huge games in his high school career.

Owen Taylor, Capistrano Valley, 2022
Capo Valley had a school-record for passing yards in a single game against Trabuco Hills last week and three different Cougar receivers had over 100 yards receiving. Depending on what night you watch the Cougars, a different receiver could have a huge game. Taylor caught 12 passes for 249 yards and a touchdown in the win. He has 1,187 yards and 9 touchdowns receiving on the season.
