El Dorado and Sylvan Hills is the type of matchup that fans look for at this point in the season. Both El Dorado and Sylvan Hills are playing strong football at the perfect time of the season and this game should be a hard-hitting affair. The matchup this coming Friday is one that will have playoff implications for both teams and both are looking to keep the momentum going.
We will look first at the El Dorado Wildcats. El Dorado seems to be clicking on all cylinders going into this contest against Sylvan Hills. The offensive side of the ball has numerous players that can stretch the field for the Wildcats. Quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="153818" first="Sharmon" last="Rester"] does a terrific job of getting the ball to his talented wide receiver corps. De Andra Burns Jr., [player_tooltip player_id="141724" first="Kamron" last="Bibby"], and [player_tooltip player_id="75112" first="Jackie" last="Washington"] are all game changers at the wide receiver position. The Wildcats are looking to strike early and make the Bears play from behind. This has the potential to be a great game.
On the defensive side of the ball, El Dorado is going to need to force the strong Sylvan Hills rushing attack off of the field. Linebackers [player_tooltip player_id="99474" first="Patrick" last="Sixbey"], [player_tooltip player_id="173495" first="Javin" last="Steward"], and [player_tooltip player_id="97472" first="Jyrin" last="Steward"] are going to be tasked with attempting to shutdown a talented rushing attack for Sylvan Hills. The El Dorado defense will need to force some three and outs and get the offense the ball as often as they can.
Meanwhile, the Sylvan Hills Bears are executing the flexbone to a level that Ken Hatfield would love. The past couple of weeks running back Dylan Harris has punished tacklers that attempt to bring him down. Something to watch is the solid job the Bears’ offensive line does in blocking for the running backs. Sylvan Hills guard [player_tooltip player_id="137779" first="Josh" last="Lawrence"] plays with good speed and has a mean streak when it comes to blocking his man. The ground game will be a big facet this week and the Bears will need to perform well against a talented El Dorado defense.
On the defensive side of the ball for the Bears, Sylvan Hills has one of the most talented pass rushers in the business in the form of [player_tooltip player_id="132412" first="Jaden" last="Foster"]. Foster is an extremely disruptive player that can completely cause nightmares for the opposing offensive line with his mix of power and speed. Forcing Rester to be uncomfortable and rush his throws will be the job of Foster. Both teams have the talent on defense to make this an ugly football, so the offenses will have to pick the key to moments to attack.
