Friday Night Lights is almost coming to an end. For week 10 I decided to go visit two powerhouse high school football teams. Ranked #3 in Houston Atascocita Eagles (7-2) vs #4 in Houston North Shore Mustangs (9-1). I have seen both these two teams play before and have been following their progress throughout the whole season. Coming into this game I thought both teams were evenly matched it was hard to say who would win this game. When the game started my assessment was correct neither team could score nor completely stop the other. Both teams were tied at half. However, after the half North Shore Mustangs scored on the 1st play of the 3rd quarter giving them the momentum for the rest of the game. The final score was 31-21 with The North Shore Mustangs coming out victorious. The North Shore Mustangs had a lot of standouts on both sides of the ball it was hard to pick just five standouts for offense.

#15 Kaleb Bailey QB Fr

North Shore Mustangs had a two quarterback system. One of them was Kaleb Bailey. Kaleb had a great night against the Atascocita Eagles. From how good Kaleb was I was surprised he was just a freshman quarterback. Kaleb had a good arm, but he was really great at scrambling. Kaleb was also fast if he saw an open path he was going for a long run. Being a freshman Kaleb will have a lot of time to shine in high school in the next couple of years Kaleb could be a top college prospect. Kaleb threw for two receiving touchdowns.

#20 Javin Logan RB Sr and #32 Xavier Owens Jr RB Sr 5’8 175 lbs

These two running backs for The North Shore Mustangs need some recognition. #20 Javin Logan and #32 Xavier Owens both are incredibly fast. Each time these young men got the ball they zoomed past the Atascocita’s defensive line and got the 1st down. They gave North Shore the advantage and momentum needed to keep on making plays. These two running backs are important assets for The North Shore Mustangs Xavier they’ll be exceptional for playoffs this season.

#16 Aubry Broussard QB Sr 6’0

The other quarterback was Aubrey Broussard. Aubrey was the more experienced and agile quarterback. Aubry also had a great arm and is a very mobile quarterback. Aubry had full view of the field and threw the best pass to the best man open. If no one was open or if he saw a path he would run the ball and very efficient as well. Aubry was even able to rush in for a 21 yard run touchdown.

#34 [player_tooltip player_id="131823" first="Rashaad" last="Johnson"] RB Jr 5’9 215 lbs

One player I was excited to watch again was running back #34 [player_tooltip player_id="131823" first="Rashaad" last="Johnson"]. Rashaad was a complete BEAST. When they handed the ball off to Rashaad that man got results. Rashaad had speed and power it was not easy to bring that man down or catch up to him. Rashaad got the ball the 1st play of the of the 2nd half he zoomed pass the middle broke two tackles from the linebacker and safety and ran for a 64 yard touchdown. It was amazing this touchdown gave North Shore the momentum they needed to win this game. With a running back like Rashaad on North Shore’s offense they could go all the way to the state championships.
