To start, they have managed to outscore their opponents 221-71 the entire season. Their offense has managed to score three times more than their opponents have managed to do so against them, and they have not allowed more than 20 points in a single game this season. What makes this more impressive is that in doing so, they have racked up a 6-0 record. On the road to accomplishing this, they have defeated teams such as Parkview, Norcross, Dacula, West Forsyth, Grayson, and North Gwinnett. As one can tell, this isn’t a simple feat, as a majority of the teams that were previously listed are powerhouse football programs. Lucky enough for Mill Creek, they face a 3-3 Mountain View High School this week before marching on to Newton, Collins Hill, and Peachtree Ridge to finish the season.
A huge reason in which Mill Creek has seen the success that they have is due to the high level of offensive success. As the leader of the offense, QB, Hayden Clark has led his team well as a 2023 prospect, and has thrown for over 1,100 yards. In addition to this, he has already passed for 9 TD’s and averages about 189 yards per game. The primary recipients of this successful air raid includes that of Caleb Downs Caleb Downs 5'11" | 180 lbs | DB Mill Creek | 2023 State GA , Trajen Greco, Makhail Wood, Brendan Jenkins, and Zekai Wimby. The Hawks have also had a large amount of dominance on the ground, as they have scored 13 TD’s on the ground as a team. This has predominantly been led by Donovan Journey, who has accumulated 413 yards and 9 TD’s, but has also seen contributions from plays such as Downs, and Joseph Robinson Jr.
As amazing as the Hawks offense has been, credit has to also be given to their defense. So far, 13 defensive players have totaled double digit tackle numbers, including 4 different players who have recorded 30 or more tackles. This includes the likes of Jamal Anderson, Zach Jollay, Kevin Mitchell, and as you could expect, Caleb Downs Caleb Downs 5'11" | 180 lbs | DB Mill Creek | 2023 State GA . In fact, he is tied with Anderson for 39 total tackles, which leads the entire team. To add to this, Downs also leads the team in solo tackles, with 29 total tackles, with 10 being assists. To add to this, the team also does an incredible job of getting to the QB, as they have managed to total 19 as a team, with 11 different players having recorded a tackle. Leading the group is Mitchell, who has 4 sacks, and Jollay, who has 3. Even more impressively for the defense, they have also totaled 6 interceptions, with Downs, Henderson, and Anderson being the ones who have taken the ball away.
