Max Schiltz – Homestead – MLB – 6’0″ 195 lbs
If you ask Schiltz, he will probably say he had 2 dropped INTs in his hands on the night that he wishes he could have back. He was reading the passing game correctly and in the right spot most of the time, he just never made the catch. He was all over the field and flying around making tackles. He had double-digit tackles on the night and a sack. Schiltz forced pressure and issues for the passing game most of the night. He looked good but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to get the win.
Matt Miller – Homestead – DT – 6’3″ 240 lbs
The interior of Homestead’s defensive line stayed stiff all night. They played a bend don’t break style on Friday and it worked most of the night. They stayed in their gaps and went straight downhill. Miller was able to benefit on the disciplined play. He got home and sacked Becker twice on the night and killed both drives. He also had 7 tackles and another TFL on the night.
Jorge Valdes – Carroll – SS – 5’11” 185 lbs
Valdes was a thorn in Homestead’s side all night. On defense, he was all over the backend and making tackles left and right. He also broke up a pass on the night. However, Valdes changed the game with his punt block. He was able to get home on a punt, layout, and make the block. Carroll got the ball on the +40-yard line and scored on the next drive.
Ethan Beaupre – Carroll – CB – 6’1″ 175 lbs
Whatever Beaupre did before the game he should make his new tradition because he was awesome. Beaupre was juiced up from the start and was suffocating his WR. Homestead threw the ball to Beaupre’s side 1 time and he embarrassed the defender. He blew up the screenplay and forced a fumble. They didn’t target Beaupre’s side of the field the rest of the night.
Alex Smith – Carroll – CB
Smith sealed the deal for Carroll late in the game on arguably the biggest play of his career. He intercepted a pass at the 50-yard line and returned it 10-yards. That interception sealed the fate for Homestead and the crowd went wild. He also made 4 tackles on the night. He played primarily in the slot on Friday and looked like he felt really confident. Carroll will move on and Homestead’s season is done.
