Lincoln will travel to Lakes as two of the best teams in the state go at it on Saturday afternoon. Lincoln enters the contest 4-2 after winning 3 straight games. Lakes holds a strong 6-1 record and has won 5 straight games, with their only loss coming from week 2 at Enumclaw 27-28. The Lakes offense has looked explosive the past couple of weeks, while their defense has logged 2 shutouts. Lincoln has a similar story, as both their offense and defense has been lights out since the 35-56 loss to Bellevue. Lincoln has scored over 40 points in their past 3 games, so all signs point to this game having a dog fight type of atmosphere. This matchup is filled with numerous promising prospects, including one of the highest recruited athletes on the west coast in Lincoln DL Jayden Wayne Jayden Wayne 6'5" | 240 lbs | DL Lincoln | 2023 FL . Regardless, there is going to be a ton of talent on that field Saturday afternoon, and numerous athletes are going to get an opportunity to rise their stock and compete with some of Washington’s best.
Players to watch:
Jayden Wayne Jayden Wayne 6'5" | 240 lbs | DL Lincoln | 2023 FL , DL, Lincoln ’23: The 6’6″ 245lb edge rusher continues to prove why he’s worthy of those 34 offers thus far. He has recorded 8 sacks, 9 hurries, and 9 TFL’s and possesses a raw talent and is a very gifted athlete. He checks all the boxes as an elite DE/Edge at the high school level and has been a clear mismatch against anyone that goes 1v1 with him. An absolute menace on the Lincoln defense that will need to have a strong performance on Saturday.
Gabarri Johnson Gabarri Johnson 6'2" | 200 lbs | QB Lincoln | 2023 State WA , QB, Lincoln ’23: Johnson has really taken a leap from his sophomore to junior season thus far, and has showcased how dangerous he can be with his arm. The dual-threat QB has thrown for 1,733 yards and 22 TD’s while adding another 452 yards and 9 TD’s on the ground. A very dangerous player with the ability to change the game in a split second with his arm or with his legs, as he looks to be one of, if not the, most explosive players in the state.
David Wells David Wells 6'2" | 175 lbs | WR Lakes | 2023 State WA , WR, Lakes: Wells has proven to be a top receiver in the state thus far, racking up 22 receptions for 558 yards and 5 TD’s, showcasing legit big play ability. He has also been a ball hawk as a DB, hauling in 3 INT’s. He’s very effective off the LOS to frequently generate a clean release and is a sharp and creative route runner. Nice burst with solid speed all-around, and looks like a promising junior to get on your radar.
Leo Pulalasi Leo Pulalasi 6'1" | 205 lbs | ATH Lakes | 2023 State WA , ATH, Lakes ’23: Pulalasi is a dynamic player with nice frame and build at 6’1″ 210lbs and has the ability to make a strong impact on both sides of the ball. As a ball carrier, he flashes solid vision and possesses good balance and body control along the boundary to tight rope down the sideline. Strong at the POC and is explosive through the tackle when lined up at LB, and should be a key player in this matchup.
