These guys have already flashed a ton of ability at the varsity level, despite being only 14-15 years old. Look for them to be major impact guys for the next three years. Here’s who you need to know!
DL: Dylon Worthen, 6’2″, 230, Dodge County
This young man is awfully strong at the point of attack and does a nice job of getting lockout on opposing guards. He shows a great first step off the snap and explodes off the football with a low pad level. He’s extremely disruptive and shows no issues fighting through double teams. Worthen currently plays as a head-up four-technique in a 3-3 stack scheme; however, based on his size and athletic ability, I think he’ll kick outside to a true five-technique at the next level. The potential of this young man is just filthy.
DB: Russell Richmond, 6′, 165, Central Gwinnett
A hard-nosed safety prospect that is an exceptional tackler in space. Richmond reads the quarterback like a polished veteran and can promptly close ground once the ball is thrown. He shows solid recovery speed and serious versatility, even lining up on the perimeter as a corner. His aggression and pure nastiness make him someone who I think could evolve into a really good prospect over the next three seasons.
LB: Rashod Daniel, 5’11’, 210, Putnam County
A twitchy inside linebacker with noticeable burst and acceleration. Rashod uses sudden lateral movements to avoid blocks at the second level. This young man plays a physical brand of football and has practically lived in the opponent’s backfield through the midway point of the season. He shows great top-end speed and a ton of ability as a pass rusher coming off the edge.
LB: Chance Arthur, 5’11, 195, Kennesaw Mountain
A gifted two-way player who has consistently made an impact on offense, defense, and special teams. Arthur has a compact, muscular frame that he uses for both downhill running and tackling. He doesn’t shy away from contact and is willing to tackle in space or in the box. Arthur runs through tackle attempts and fears no opposing ball carriers. He will often scrape down the line backside and make tackles from behind.
DB: Jontae Gilbert, 6′, 160, Douglass
Outstanding ball skills and phenomenal change of direction. This is a true center fielder with great range. Gilbert shows compact breaks and noticeable closing speed when reading run. He utilizes the gator roll tackle often and rarely whiffs on attempted tackles. Gilbert runs the alley with a full head of steam and will stick opposing ball carriers in their tracks. I think he’s a no-brainer Power-Five kid right now and more than deserving of a handful of offers.
