Deon Marshall – Glenn – DB – 5’10” 165 lbs
Marshall was outstanding on Friday. He stood out in every way you could imagine. He was stopping the run and blowing it up in the backfield and defending passes. He broke up 4 passes on the night with an amazing interception. He played it perfectly and outjumped the receiver. He came down with the interception and it changed the momentum of the game. On the next drive, Marshall forced a fumble after lighting up the RB in the backfield.
Shawn Collins – Wayne – DB – 5’10” 187 lbs
Not only did Collins put on a show on offense, but he also did it defensively too. He was calling the signals on the backend of the defense and was flying all over the field. He has elite stamina to play both offense and defense and never get tired. He had 11 tackles and an INT on the night. His INT was fantastic. He read the play perfectly and came down with the ball.
Wade Jones Wade Jones 6'5" | 200 lbs | ATH Tippecanoe Valley | 2024 State IN – Tippecanoe Valley – FS – 6’5″ 186 lbs
Jones was flying all over the field on Friday. He’s a ball-hawking Safety who is always good for one INT a game. He got his INT early on Friday and it helped give the offense juice. The offense scored on the ensuing drive which gave them a 14-0 lead. Jones finished the night with 10 tackles, an INT, and a forced fumble on the night. The fans in the area love him and you can quickly find out why when you watch them play.
Dylan Bredemeyer – Eastside – FS – 6’1″ 170 lbs
Bredemeyer was Eastside’s leading tackler on Friday and he was great all night long. Eastside likes to run Cover 1 and let him roam the backend. They trust him to make plays and he usually delivers. He made an interception in the endzone right when they were getting some pressure put back on them. He read the play, jumped the curl route, and went down instead of trying to make some magic happen. It was the right call and they took over at the 20.
Da’Von Doughty Da’Von Doughty 5'10" | 205 lbs | LB North Side | 2023 State IN – Bishop Luers – MLB – 5’10” 205 lbs
Bishop Luers and Fairfield faced off in a playoff game and Luers was the only team that seemed to have shown up. They beat down Fairfield all night and the defense just harrassed the Fairfield offense. Doughty stopped Fairfield’s only promising-looking drive of the game. He came in and just ripped the ball out of the hands of the receiver and picked the ball up and returned it for 10 more yards. He had 13 tackles on the night along with 3 TFL.
