As Central was able to continue their undefeated season against Auburn in a 21-7 victory. We spotted some next level talent on both sides of the ball! Check out the standouts we feel will have and impact on the next level.
<span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Karmello English WR Central</strong></span>
English was the most explosive player on the field. His acceleration allows him to take the top off any defense and turn 10-yard slants into 70-yard touchdowns. English is efficient and smooth with his transitions in routes. Highly effective in quick game plays, especially bubble screens. His run after the catch ability is excellent. He also shows the ability to make defenders miss in small spaces and uses his elite quick twitch to his advantage.
<span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="127683" first="Clyde" last="Pittman"] QB Auburn</strong></span>
Pittman showed promise throughout the game. His ability to take on pressure and still deliver the ball seems to be his strong point. Pitman also showed good ball placement and accuracy whenever he had time to set his feet. Outside of one mistake early in the game, he showed an ability to distribute the ball effectively amongst different players. Should develop into a solid prospect within the 2023 class.
<span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="125943" first="Caleb" last="Nix"] QB Central</strong></span>
Nix showed and a knack for making plays off schedule. His poise allows him to make something out of nothing and routinely make plays off-script. In addition, Nix possesses a live arm and is effective on off-platform throws. His ability to dissect defenses in the RPO game is a skill that will carry over to the next level.
<span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Carson Yancy DB Auburn</strong></span>
Yancy is a defensive back that plays with a linebacker mentality. His pursuit of the ball is quick and precise. He does a great job of reading the QB’s eyes and diagnosing the development of the play. His anticipation is off the charts, and he seems to have a knack for disrupting the opposition’s quick passes and running attack. He also showed ability as a return guy in an elusive scamper that set his team up with a good field position. Yancy’s physicality will translate to the next level where he can transition to Strong Safety and unlock his potential.
<span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Sterlin Harris Central</strong></span>
Harris’ 6-2 280LB frame pops out when watching him. He has a solid motor that allows him to make plays at a high rate and even run down some plays from behind, which is impressive given his size. Harris defends the run at an adequate level. He was willingly taking on blocks and using his strength to get a significant push on the line. He also showed an ability to grab runners with one arm while being blocked, which is a formidable skill. As a pass rusher, Harris uses his strength to bull rush and get into his opponent’s chest. His ability to collapse the middle of the pocket caused problems all night for the opposing line.
