1. Austin Novosad Austin Novosad 6'4" | 195 lbs | QB Dripping Springs | 2023 State TX (JR-QB) – Dripping Springs High School (Dripping Springs, TX)
2021 Season: 1,874 passing yards, 28 passing touchdowns, 6 interceptions
Not much more can be said about Novosad, he has consistently played perfectly all season and has torn up the field with very few mistakes.
2. Mason Shorb Mason Shorb 6'3" | 175 lbs | QB Rouse | 2023 State TX (JR-QB) – Rouse High School (Leander, TX)
2021 Season: 1,873 passing yards, 25 passing touchdowns, 3 interceptions, 3 rushing touchdowns
Shorb has been the high-scorer as of late with 13 touchdowns coming from him in the past three games. He too has made little mistakes and has has been able to run the ball in a few times this season as well. Both he, and Novosad, are easily the best quarterbacks in the area right now.
3. Justice Hurt (SR-QB) – Taft High School (San Antonio, TX)
2021 Season: 512 passing yards, 9 passing touchdowns, 1,186 rushing yards, 14 rushing touchdowns
Although not doing much work through the air, Hurt has been a monster among men when running the ball. His rushing numbers are insane and are above some of the best starting running backs in Central Texas. Hurt is arguably the best scrambler in the state.
4. Cade Klubnik Cade Klubnik 6'2" | 180 lbs | QB Austin Westlake | 2022 State TX (SR-QB) – Westlake High School (Austin, TX)
2021 Season: 1,476 passing yards, 20 passing touchdowns, 2 interceptions, 196 rushing yards, 6 rushing touchdowns
Although going down with an injury last week, Klubnik is still among the best in Central Texas. He is accurate, calm in the pocket and can chuck the ball down the field with ease. Even with all the pressure on his shoulders, Klubnik has not faltered at all and should be back soon.
5. Colin Page (SR-RB) – Anderson High School (Austin, TX)
2021 Season: 1,135 rushing yards, 16 rushing touchdowns, 32 receptions, 532 receiving yards, 4 receiving touchdowns
Page is another player that has torn on the field on the ground. Although Anderson has faced a couple of tough losses, Page has been consistent with scoring including when he put up five touchdowns against Weiss on Thursday, Sept. 30.
6. Re’Shaun Sanford Re’Shaun Sanford 5'7" | 155 lbs | RB Harker Heights | 2023 State TX II (JR-RB) – Harker Heights High School (Harker Heights, TX)
2021 Season: 1,183 rushing yards, 14 rushing touchdowns, 194 receiving yards, 2 receiving touchdowns
Sanford is another consistent threat week in and week out. He especially reminded Central Texas what he is capable of when he scored five rushing touchdowns and ran for over 250 yards against Belton last week. However, in each game he has played, he has not gone a game without a touchdown and has rushed for over 200 yards in three games this season.
7. Alessandro Perez (JR-DL) – East View High School (Georgetown, TX)
2021 Season: 47 total tackles, 36 solo tackles, 14 tackles for a loss, 8 sacks, 1 forced fumble
Perez has emerged as Central Texas’ sack leader and has made a name for himself to be disruptive to any opposing offense he faces.
8. Christopher Robinson (JR-DL) – Harker Heights High School (Harker Heights, TX)
2021 Season: 25 total tackles, 17 solo tackles, 11 tackles for a loss, 7.5 sacks
Not far behind Perez is Robinson, who just falls behind Perez by .5 sacks. Still, much like Perez, Robinson is a disruptive force and can cause chaos for the quarterback, especially if they try to stay in the pocket.
9. Ricky Gonzalez (JR-WR) – Antonian Prep High School (San Antonio, TX)
2021 Season: 41 receptions, 672 receiving yards, 8 receiving touchdowns
One of the best receivers in the area right now, Gonzalez is consistently bringing in catches left and right, and scoring left and right.
10. Jesse Medina (JR-QB) – Johnson High School (Buda, TX)
2021 Season: 1,489 passing yards, 18 passing touchdowns, 2 interceptions, 378 rushing yards, 5 rushing touchdowns
Arguably, a dark horse in the top quarterbacks in Central Texas, many might look over Medina, but he has become a force to be reckoned with. He makes very few mistakes and is pretty consistent in his performances.
