1. Colin Page (SR-RB) – Anderson High School (Austin, TX)
2021 Season: 978 rushing yards, 16 rushing touchdowns, 28 receptions, 492 receiving yards, 4 receiving touchdowns
Not much more can be said about Page than what has already been said. He is simply playing on another level than the rest in Central Texas. Not only can he run the ball, but he has proven time and again that he can be lethal receiving out of the backfield. He is an all-around top athlete and deserves as much recognition as possible.
2. Mason Shorb Mason Shorb 6'3" | 175 lbs | QB Rouse | 2023 State TX (JR-QB) – Rouse High School (Leander, TX)
2021 Season: 1,628 passing yards, 21 passing touchdowns, 3 interceptions, 2 rushing touchdowns
Not far behind is Shorb, who has been playing lights out this season. Rouse is amongst the favorites for a deep playoff push after last season, and with the way Shorb is playing, the Raiders are sure in a prime spot for that to happen.
3. Cade Klubnik Cade Klubnik 6'2" | 180 lbs | QB Austin Westlake | 2022 State TX (SR-QB) – Westlake High School (Austin, TX)
2021 Season: 1,317 passing yards, 19 passing touchdowns, 2 interceptions, 150 rushing yards, 5 rushing touchdowns
Klubnik is a household name at this point in his career, especially after he committed to Clemson. Still, it is worth noting Klubnik’s playmaking abilities even though they come as no surprise. Klubnik is amongst the best in the state and if he carries this same tenacity into college, he will be amongst the best in the nation.
4. Quinten Joyner (JR-RB) – Manor High School (Manor, TX)
2021 Season: 901 rushing yards, 11 rushing touchdowns
Joyner has quickly emerged as an elite running back in Central Texas, especially after multiple huge touchdown runs against Georgetown and Leander. Against Georgetown, he scored on a 71-yard run and against Leander it was for 89 yards. On top of that, he also had a 90-yard touchdown run against Bastrop. Joyner is clearly one of those backs that can score in an instant and change the whole tone of a game in a flash.
5. Austin Novosad Austin Novosad 6'4" | 195 lbs | QB Dripping Springs | 2023 State TX (JR-QB) – Dripping Springs High School (Dripping Springs, TX)
2021 Season: 1,570 passing yards, 23 passing touchdowns, 5 interceptions
Novosad has been one of the most consistent players in Central Texas. Even with Dripping Springs having a bye week, Novosad has remained on top of the stats simply because of what he has already done. The potential is there for Dripping Springs to have a huge playoff push and a dominant second half of the season.
6. Troy Oliver Jr. (SR-WR) – Rouse High School (Leander, TX)
2021 Season: 27 receptions, 566 receiving yards, 8 receiving touchdowns
Oliver and Shorb continue to be a deadly duo and when one is having a great performance, the other is usually following suit. This makes defending Rouse especially problematic because despite the teams Rouse has faced, they have failed to completely shut Oliver and Shorb down.
7. Derrick Warren (SR-RB) – Jarrell High School (Jarrell, TX)
2021 Season: 839 rushing yards, 11 rushing touchdowns, 13 receptions, 211 receiving yards, 3 receiving touchdowns
Warren is another high-scoring running back who is effective both out of the backfield and running on the ground. He has the receiving skills to catch in traffic and the speed and elusiveness to juke out pretty much any defender. Warren is a deadly asset for Jarrell.
8. Ben Klar (SR-LB) – Marshall High School (San Antonio, TX)
2021 Season: 106 total tackles, 65 solo tackles, 1 interception, 4 fumble recoveries, 2 forced fumbles
9. Alessandro Perez (JR-DL) – East View High School (Georgetown, TX)
2021 Season: 42 total tackles, 11 tackles for a loss, 7 sacks, 1 forced fumble
10. Ricky Gonzalez (JR-WR) – Antonian Prep High School (San Antonio, TX)
2021 Season: 35 receptions, 591 receiving yards, 7 receiving touchdowns
Gonzalez is not that far behind Oliver in terms of scoring. Gonzalez excels in the speed category and is excellent in running his routes. He can out-maneuver most of his opponents and can make some pretty difficult catches if need be.
