The following Class of 2025 offensive line stand outs have shown promise and look to be budding stars. Offensive Linemen Byron Washington, Andrew Gross, Sean Hutton, Ameer Ross, and Derrick Eddlemon are all upcoming names to watch.
1. Byron Washington (FR-OL) DeSoto High School (DeSoto, Texas)
This list of impressive freshmen is headed off by none other than 14 y/o, 6’8, 340 lbs Byron Washington. Since seeing Byron this summer at the NextGen Exposure Camp at IMG, he has changed his body and improved his technique abundantly. The massive offensive lineman is originally from Monroe, Louisiana but relocated earlier this year to DeSoto. Byron has elite size, length, and is an intuitive lineman. His current GPA is standing at a 3.4 and he is a student of the Game. Byron is still early in his development process but has made leaps of progress. The biggest strides I’ve seen come with improvements on his core strength, flexibility and overall technique. Even though he’s an inch taller Byron, reminds me of class of 2022 Duncanville All-American OT Cameron Williams Cameron Williams 6'6" | 320 lbs | OL Duncanville | 2022 State TX . Byron has once in a lifetime size. With the support system he has, great things are anticipated out of him. I look forward to watching his development through DeSoto’s Strength and Conditioning program.
2. Andrew Gross (FR-OL) Coppell High school (Coppell TX)
Next we have 6’3, 245 lbs, Andrew Gross out of Coppell, Texas. Andrew is another impressive 2025 prospect, who is originally from New York and relocated to the DFW in 2015. Andrew’s development has been an interesting one to watch, he’s a nasty guard who loves to finish. Andrew is a lean and versatile offensive line athlete that has shown the ability to play all five positions on the line. He has a high football IQ and consistently finds himself in the right spot. The young linemen has shown good technique, and is poised to develop into a special player.
3. Sean Hutton (FR-OL) Lewisville High school (Lewisville, TX)
The next 2025 offensive lineman that has shown great promise is Sean Hutton out of Lewisville High School. The freshman stands at 6’1, 280 lbs. Sean has great pop in his hips and has shown above average pulling skills. His position Coach Tammie Moore, mentioned him as a stand out thus far through week 7. Sean projects as a Center at the next level but currently plays Guard for the Lewisville Farmers. Sean was impressive on tape this year vs Flower Mound. He’s a physical young lineman who plays with great intent. He will be one to watch out for with the 6-0, 6A Lewisville program.
4. Ameer Ross (FR-OL) Duncanville High school (Duncanville TX)
Another young and skilled 2025 offensive lineman to know is Ameer Ross. Ameer is out of National powerhouse Duncanville High School. The skilled 6’3, 305 lbs lineman can functionally play all five positions. Ameer is a big framed, natural athlete that shows the tools to be successful. He has made a huge impression on his coaches so far, which is no easy task with three All-American tackles in the past two seasons coming out of the same program.
If we’ve learned anything over the last few seasons it’s that Duncanville doesn’t rebuild in the offensive line room, they reload.
5. Derrick Eddlemon (FR-OL) La Vernia High School (San Antonio, TX)
The last but certainly not least, 2025 linemen to know in the state, is a name that sounds very familiar. Derrick Eddlemon is a 6’3, 245 lbs OL out of La Vernia High School in San Antonio, TX. Derrick is a smart, and lean tackle that uses leverage and angles to his advantage.
Derrick’s older brother (Barrett Eddlemon) is a 4-Star offensive tackle recruit and I see him following down the same path. With offensive lineman, it’s always hard to project out how they will develop, but the San Antonio native has all of the Intangibles to be a successful division 1 linemen.
There are hundreds of other O-Line athletes who were deserving of being mentioned, but these players are ahead of their class. It’s going to be interesting to watch the development and maturation process of these talented big fellas.
