It was the beginning of district play for some, which definitely brought out best of some players and others raised their play to another level. Listed below are players who caught my eye with great effort, determination, and leadership, and did whatever they could do in order to help lead their teams to success. Saw some new names who baled out and will be looking forward to watching them play more in the future.
WR Jax Medica (2023) – Fulshear
Friday night was Medica’s night vs. Lake Creek. He could do no wrong and everything that touched his hands was gold. Medica showed his ability to break out of routes and catch the contested passes. He was a reliable target the entire night and put up some very impressive stats. Medica hauled in 8 receptions for 148 yards and 2 touchdowns, including a slant that he took 53 yards to the house. He was a major contributor to his teams 42-15 win over Lake Creek. Medica is pure excitement to watch when he touches the field!
WR Jordan Kelly (2022) – Mayde Creek
Kelly was the favorite target for his quarterbacks in week 5 matchup vs. College Park. The defense tried their best to bottle him up but Kelly managed to break a few long gains to help his team. Kelly is a physical receiver with good size and length, and shows his athletic ability in the open field. He is usually the main target on tunnel screens, but he put his deep threat abilities on display, especially on his 64 yard catch and run where he shook off a defender and proceeded on to “Griddy” after the score. Kelly has the dangerous combo of size, speed, and strength so I look forward to seeing the “Griddy” some more as the season continues and he keeps balling.
RB Ifeanyi Monye (2024) – Katy Jordan
Monye was one of the most impressive performances of the night. He showed absolute determination and competitiveness in a back and forth battle against Lake Belton. Monye was an absolute workhorse and had some very good runs on the night, keeping his team in the game. He is a strong runner who finishes his runs with great contact and power. For a player so young he shows great skill and potential. Monye is just one piece to a very talent, young Jordan team. That team will have many eyes in them sooner than later as they continue to fight this season.
ATH Wyatt Young (2024) – Tompkins
Young had himself a game on Thursday night vs. Cinco Ranch and was in his bag. He showed much skill and looked fantastic in the open field. Young had himself a viral moment on a 30 yard catch and run where he finished the run with a hurdle over a defender. Another excellent young talent who has proved to be a difference maker on the field. Young had 5 receptions for 121 yards, and a touchdown to go along with it.
QB Colin Willetts (2024) – Katy Jordan
Willetts was another player who showed to be a great competitor in a tough loss against Lake Belton. He never showed defeat at any point of the game and continued to fight every down he was on the field. Willetts was a strong runner and delivered the ball in good spots when he needed to. Katy Jordan will be in good hands with him at quarterback as he continues to grow into a great player.
Other Notable Performances:
RB Caleb Blocker (2024) – Tompkins

QB Brad Jackson Brad Jackson 6'0" | 185 lbs | QB San Antonio Reagan | 2024 State TX (2024) – Cypress Creek
